Thanks for the info guys. Kind of looks like its more about driveing stlye and driveing conditons then any thing else I suppose. Looks like I just need to get out on the road for a good long trip then see.

I get 18. 3 to 18. 5 consistantly around town. Depends on how heavy footed I get.

My worst is 17. 1 my average is 19. 2. Like RankRam I find 70 mph to be the best for me. I have 3. 54 rear, but I have 36" swampers, so the ratio is changed. The most asked question I get is what kind of fuel mileage do I get with those big tires? I love telling them 17-19 mpg and watching their mouth drop. #ad

I consider myself lucky. If I keep things 65 or under, I have gotten as high as 22 (unloaded). I usually average about 20 on mixed city and highway. If I start driving faster (70 or 75) I get 18 or 19. The worst I have ever gotten is 10 while towing in big hills and headwinds. We were going 75-85 too...

I have a little over 8K miles now since beginning of March. I only use it to drive to work approximately 14 miles each way and still manage to put on 400 miles per week???
I do not do much highway, but get 18. 5 to 19. 5 depending on fuel used. I have gotten 22 on a trip when truck had <3000 miles. This was at 70-75 MPH cruise set. I have 3. 54 LS rear end ratio and 4wd ETH engine

23,000 miles on my ram and mileage is as follows: empty on the highway at 70-85mph anywhere from 18-20mpg. Pulling 22' travel trailer on the highway at 70-85 anywhere from 12-15 mpg. On two trips with travel trailer and 7000+ miles fuel mileage averaged 13. 46mpg and most of that was on the highway at 75-80mph. One thing I found kinda strange, with the trailer on back going through the mountains I left the trans out of overdrive and my foot mashed down going up the mountains. You could hear the fan clutch engage and coolant temp. was higher-but driving like that yielded over 15mpg on three different tanks of fuel #ad

I'm getting about the same. If I really baby it, never see more than 2-4lbs boost, never go above 2000 rpm, I can get around 15 in stop & go city driving.

On the highway I get 17 at 65mph but it goes down from there the faster I go.

I'm sort of disapointed in my mileage too. My 95 5-speed 4x4 got 22mpg city and highway. Didn't seem to matter how I drove it either.

Not sure what I get unloaded, I never ck. But last month I pulled our 36ft 14K 5er up to Louisville through TN. I did 11. 9 and thought that was really good.

Just filled up this morning and the calculator spit out a 17. 9mpg for mostly highway driving. Sure wish I had unlocking hubs like my 92 had.

Around town and local driving I get about 20 mpg (unloaded). With a 3300 pound camper I get 13-15. 5 depending on the wind, at 60 - 65 mph.

97,000 miles and counting.

I've averaged 19. 9mpg over 61,000 miles. Worst tank was first tank off of dealer lot at 17. 7mpg. Best was Detroit to Buffalo at 65mph with tailwind at 22. 5mpg. I don't tow. I used to drive all highway at 70, now I drive mixed with no difference. I saw a 1 mpg hit with the emissions re-call, but regained it with the 255 tires. I see a hit in the winter, too.

Our 98. 5 4x4 QC 5 speed 4:10 gets about 15 around town and 20 highway (75-80 mph 5 th gear). The 01' 4x4 QC auto 4:10 started out getting 12. 5 around town and 20 highway (75-80 mph - OD on; it now has 16,000 miles on it and gets 15. 5 in town and 17. 5 to 19 on the highway (75-80 mph - OD on). I have seen as high as 24 mpg on level ground (cool temperatures)several times. (55-60 mph - OD off)which brings me to one of my conclusions the 2001 gets its best fuel mileage at speeds below 60 mph with the OD off. Has anyone else found this to be true. My best advice with a 24 valve is to keep it between 1600 and 1800 rpm for best fuel economy.

Just came from Hawthorne Nevada to Long Beach, Cal. via Hwy 395. Kept it at 65 & 70 when legal. Camper, A/C on, some headwinds, lots of hills, charging 4 batts.

410 miles, 26. 3 gals. = 15. 6 Mpg w/ calibrated odometer. Best Mpg was 19 (unloaded), worst is 14.

How much difference do you guys have between the computer and your actual milage? My computer is . 3 to . 5 below the actual milage. I need to see if this can be recalibrated!!!!!

I have kept track of my mileage ever since I got my truck. On an annual basis (average), I was getting about 20. 5 mpg. I recently installed the #11 TST plate and I'm now getting 23-24 mpg. Power Wagon says its because the engine runs more efficiently at the somewhat higher fueling rate.

Of course, the mileage will drop when the weather turns cold, but I still expect to average over 21 mpg for the year.

I have 40,000 miles on mine. I get 23 mpg at 70 mph empty. At 75, 22 mpg. Around town I get about 17-18 mpg. Before I had the VA the best I could get on the hiway at 70 mph was 20 mpg. Around town with out the VA I got 15-16 mpg.

Unloaded@ 65 mph I get 22-24, best was 28,over 2000 rpm or 800 EGT milage drops rapidly. Around town about 16 mpg,but town is 12 miles away and has one stop light. Not bad for a 4X4 with AT,but it is a 12 valve!
