4x4 Low in Reverse

I used my 4x4 Low in Reverse yesterday for the first time while backing under my Lance truck camper. I did not think my brakes were going to be able to hold the 6. 7 back.



The brakes squeaked and groaned the entire time. Engine RPMs started at 550 and went up to only 600 or so. What a beast of an engine with that low-low gearing!

I agree. I can easily move 40K w/o touching the go-pedal.

I took the front drive shaft out about a mouth ago to replace a u-joint got the wrong one, and haven't had a chance to put it back. I have gotten use to backing in low range. I do want hubs. I read that the new 4500 can be bought with manual hubs. I want a 4500 can,t afford one but I want one. Years ago the 205 transfer cases had two sticks hi-low, 2wd-4wd. Then latter there was a 2 stick kit for the 205. AH the good days.
