Can anyone help me out with this: I'm kinda new at owning a CTD, love it by the way, had mine for about 1 1/2 years now, 2001, 4x4 ext. cab, edge EZ, but anyway was in some mud yesterday about two inches deep, just quit raining and shifted into 4wheel high. Back wheels started spinning but front wheels did not do anything, just sat there, had to pull forward and get running go to back up a small incline. This is the first time I've had this problem, this is also the first time I've owned a 4x4. I didn't know if the front end was not locking in or if I didn't give it enough time to lock in or what, thanks, any replys on this is appreciated

yep, common problem. the front axle is engaged by a vacumm activated thingy. they tend to feeze up and quit working at the times when you need them the most. dodgeram.org has all kinds of info on how the test, trouble shoot and fix the problem.

there is even a kit available to convert them to a manual cable operated device.

once you get it working again to to remember to use it abot every month or so to keep things lubes and working properly.
