If you count the tires, yes. Dodge says no. I think when I had my 97 Power stroke dually, it was referred as a 4x6. All I know is in 2" of snow, the big long lug got stuck every time! I had to chain up just to get in my driveway! :rolleyes:
 
Th first number is the total number of "axle ends"; the second number is the number of driven axle ends. Dualed tires do not operate independently of each other and can be replaced by a single if desired. A three axle semi tractor is a 6x4 even though it has 10 total tires. A 4 wheel drive dually is just a 4x4 because there are still only two axles involved.
