5-45RFE Dodge Transmission on '06's

I was at the Dodge.com website, trying to get my options set up for ordering an '06 3500 DRW SLT LWB. I plan to order in the next 30 days or so.



Anyway, under the transmission options was a 5-speed auto transmission designated as 5-45RFE. This is first mention Ive seen of this transmission.



Anybody have any info on this thing? I don't like to be a "test" subject for a manufacturer's new products.....

Thats the 5-speed automatic for the Hemi engine only. You can only get a 4 speed automatic with the Cummins.

that is the light duty 5 spd its in more than hemi powered vehicles, like some of the 4. 7 's. at this point its just in the beginning of the development for our replacement, keep your fingers crossed.
