5.9 in an Excursion

PS or Dmax conversions?

Hey all, has anyone out there dropped a 24v 5. 9 into an Excursion or PSD Ford Pick-up?

Any insight will be greatly appreciated... I've done a few conversions but all on gasser CJ7 Jeeps (NOT quite the same thing).

Thanks

A friend of mine told me the other day that he saw a 99 Excursion sitting on 39" Boggers with a Cumminsunder the hood. . He wasn't sure if it was a 12 or 24 Valve engine though. . He said it was pretty tough looking...

Probably a 2000 Excursion, that was the first model year. Mine was built in 1999 but it is a 2000. Sounds like an awesome truck.

I'm slowly gathering the needed parts. My problem is I keep bombing the stuff in my garage and it isn't even installed yet! It's just so much easier to work on the engine on a stand rather than installed. I'm swapping the whole drivetrain in: 2004 engine 305 HP, 48RE, 271 transfer case. SPS62/14 turbo, ATS manifold, head studs, stage 1 CP3, laminate flexplate, billet input shaft, ATS valve body & standalone controller, Goerends conv. , deep pan, will probably upgrade the rear driveshaft to bigger u-joints while it is out. Planning on a TST box and/or smarty as well.

Maybe with all this, my wife can get the kids to school faster, LOL.

GOT-Torque,
Biggest i've found in a double cardian CV driveshaft u-joint is 1350. Let us know if you find them in 1410 or 1450. I've seen monster trucks that never break 1350s but i'd feel better with bigger units under my beast too. You are going to love your truck with the Cummins!
