Has or is anyone using the "Bosch D3520 Distance Plus" oil filter on their Cummins engine? I have been using the Mopar Mo-285 oil filter but, My local Advance auto parts store stopped selling them, so the guy suggested the Bosch. Any feedback will be welcomed. Thx,John

I understand that Fleetgard moved the filter production offshore to China. This is why there is a shortage of the filters we use.

I thought it was Mexico? At any rate, no i've never used the Bosch ones, still using the Fleetguard filters. I don't fault them for the move, that's a whole other topic though

OH-NO!#@$%!

Why wouldn't you fault them? We have seen TOO MANY jobs go away from our country BUT... ..... that's a whole other topic

Geno's is supplying MOPAR filters instead of Fleetguard - same price - until the Fleetguards are available

Spend your money- - support Geno's - - they treat us RIGHT! :D

It is our country, that's my point. The message is that nobody can afford to do business here anymore. Until we change our tax laws, get used to seeing more of the same. And all of you who think you're holier than thou and on a "I only buy American" trip, seriously take at yourself and around your home. The clothes you were and hell, even the trucks we drive. This problem started a long time ago.

I'm looking at the new Genos catalog right now and Genos is still selling Fleetguard filters. They are going to a fluted oil filter only and phasing out the old part numbers /filters.

Fleetguard did close a plant in the US and open a new one in Mexico unfortunately. I don't know the reason. Even as a Canadian I think it was a bad decision especially since it was made by American management, but that's life in the corporate world. They do have plants all over the world already, but none in China to my knowledge. Most of the supply we get in Western Canada is back to normal now, at least the Dodge filters are. I will continue to use their filters. Shadrach

I don't think there's a better filter out there than the Donaldson Endurance ELF-7349 for single pass efficiency. They can be found for ~ $12/each online.

Just some interesting information:
Amsoil EaO-80 --------- 15 micron (Absolute) -- 50% @ 7 micron
Donaldson ELF-7349------15 micron (Absolute) -- 50% @ 7 micron
F/G Strat LF-16035-------25 micron (Absolute)
F/G Std. LF-3972 --------35 micron (Absolute)
Wix 57620 Std-----------20 micron (Nominal)
Wix 57620 XE -----------14 micron (Nominal)
Baldwin BT-7339---------12 micron (Nominal)

I beleive there are 3 different makers of the "Mopar" filter, with Fleetguard being one of them.

Personally I run the Donaldson ELF-7349, there isn't a better full flow. My 2nd choice would be the stratapore LF-16035.

Where are you getting the Donaldson for $12? I need to order some new filters and I am going to switch from Stratapore to those.
