Got my 4b figured out

PS Pump Return lines

Its been done, only they kept the 4 speed on the garage floor. Don't think the np-435 would stand up to a stock 5. 9. Heck how bout my favorite the A833 or overdrive-4 behind the 5. 9? Heck I think the getrag mainshaft is about the same size as the A833! Ok sorry. Bill

there were some np435's in some bread trucks. The ford chasis had 4b's and a 435. They had a sae bolt pattern #3 I think. I have this adapter that I took off of a 4b. I could measure it if you need to know. I don't know if there is a bellhousing for your trans mission or not hope this helps

I think gear spacing would be bad on a 435. I know it was when I did the '75 F250 4x4 6. 9 swap. I would run nv4500 or 5600.

I have had no trouble with the SM420 ( older brother to the 435).

They run direct in 4th so there is no gear load. The spacing is no problem. I do have an advanced adapters ranger overdrive but I almost never use it to split gears - there is way too much power to bother. I did rip the center out of one clutch and it seems very possible to break the input shaft off but it hasn't happend to me yet.....

I used the GM flywheel and adaptor plate off of the 4BT bread van conversion. I used a '65 chevy bell housing and a 454 Luc clutch.
