I recall reading an article about using the 6. 7L fuel filter system (which filters better than OEM 5. 9L) W/5. 9L fuel canister. I believe its a kit of sorts. Any info on this. Thought it was in a recent TDR article.

I remember seeing it somewhere, seems like it was a pretty good chunk of money. I did as some others have done and bought a filter head and a Caterpillar 2 micron filter and plumbed it in between the stock filter housing and the CP3. Works great!

The kit you are looking for is the BioDiesel kit. It adds a primary fuel filter with a fuel heater under the truck. The kit included a new in tank fuel pump and all the plumbing and wireing harness. I did the kit on my 05 after reading all the threads about bad fuel or the water in fuel light never coming on and the fuel system getting destroyed by water contamnation. Prior to installing the kit I had never had any water in the engine mounted filter I've drained it a few times always clear. After I installed the kit I had made a trip to Fla while in the Keys getting things ready for the trip bac to Ny I drained the new filter only to find there was water in it. Not much only about half an inch in a bottom of the empty water bottle I was catching the drain off into. The kit works. After learning about the horror storys some of us have had the kit is worth every dollar it costs. See the thread on the 6. 7 forum and my posts on the 5. 9 3 gen truck. Hope this helps.
