Gotta Real Good Look At A Viper GTS R.

Give me a break,I saw 5 bucks a gallon at a marothon Station on M 59 outside of Utica Mi.

This is a bunch of crap, using this disaster just to make a huge profit at our expence:mad:

I just heard about the exorbitant prices for fuel just a few hours ago. All the field techs where I work rec'd an E-mail instructing them to fill up ASAP. Left the office about 530 CDT and every station I saw on my 20 mile drive home was covered up. Just got back from stocking up on the one item that I hadn't done much earlier, beer. Here in DFW, TX as of nearly 9PM prices are holding near what they have been. I felt like I'd been taken to the cleaners by paying a $1. 609 but it was only for 6g, hey everybody's doin' it. But I did see diesel for $1. 399 on my way home. Interesting to see what happens by dawn's early light.

Darren

American kicks you know what, just wait & see.

You're right it is a bunch of Bull Crap cuz

It just ain't true w/the exception of Kansas City at a few independent stations who will be facing charges of Price Gouging per the state Attorney General. Those same rumors are flying around Gnashville and have caused massive lines at gas stations. I went to Sonic to get some 1/2 price burgers and people were scurrying about like lemmings trying to get gas. The most expensive gas I saw was $1. 65 for 93 octane with the low being $1. 55 for 93 octane. C'mon people get a grip. If you panic, you wil do stupid things. Do stupid things and you can get hurt or hurt another. Ease up, and chill.

I had considered getting a few gallons as my tank is about 1/4 full. Seeing those sheep in line changed my mind. I'll just wait til tomorrow or the day after. In any case, if things do go screwy, I'll just tap my Y2K reserves of food, ammo, and fuel and fuel oil. Fortunately my personal reserves have saved me from being gouged twice since I stockpiled and all I have ot those who laughed at me back in '99 is look who has had the last laugh.

Saw it on the news......

Prices here are normal (High):(

I really hope they prosecute those station owners. If the price were to go up charge us when you buy it not just to take advantage of a really crappy situation. Remeber which stations they are and refuse to use them from now on. I guess we have terrorists running the pumps on this end as well as those supplying the crude.

Proud to be an AMERICAN and willing to fight for that right!!!

500 Gallons

Got 500 gallons of offroad fuel delivered this morning and if it gets that bad you better beleave I'll use it before I puy that amount.

On my way to work this evening seen people driving over curbs and through gas stations yards. I guess some poeple just can't handle the pressure of a situation like this. I think it will do everyone some good to just sit and relax for a little and use some common sense if you have it.

Got a shotgun rifle and a 4wheel drive and a country boy can survive.

God Bless The USA

Don't forget to give blood!

Now thats the way to look at it Garrett and Darrell. If there are rogue gas station owners who are violating state and federal laws in some case, they can and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Here in TN, the State and Local Police are keeping an eye on the possibility of Gouging. If it occurs, they have been instructed to follow procedure and bring the practice to an immediate halt. There may very well be a few dirtbags out there who would screw us all even in this trying time, but they probably won't stay in business very long if cooler heads prevail.

My advice, report any gouging immediately to your local authorities and file an official complaint.

In any case, I further suggest keeping as cool about the whole situation as possible. Panic only breeds more panic, then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy as to the end results. It never hurts to have a contingency plan, just in case. I did and still have mine in place from the fear mongering two years ago. Fortunately, I did not need to put it into use at thqt time. More fortunate still, my plan is still just as useful in this situation as it would/could have been on Dec. 31, 1999 @2359 hrs local.

I have no less than 1000 gallons of properly stored drinking water in 55 gallon food grade barrels stored below ground level , 6-12 months of emergency food rations depending on the number of people (2-4 adults), over 3 months supply of oil, gasoline, D-2, and K-1, and I did have 5 months supply of Premium dogfood stored in 55 gal. moisture sealed opentop steel barrels for my wolfpack, which has since been used.

Because of this, I have been called a lot of names ranging from "Common Sense Survivalist to gun toting conspiracy theorist wacko". I reckon depending on the thinking of the name caller, any of them may or may not be accurate, but being fiscally responsible, mentally aware, morally and provisionally prepared for a bad situation has allowed me to weather storms that would have mentally and morally bankrupted "NORMAL" folks. It also allowed me to have a good bellylaugh at those sheep tonight who were panicked at the though of possibly paying $4-8/gal for gas. In a real pinch, most of those folks would not last three days. These same sheep are the ones who clean out the shelves of the Local K-Roger when the first flake of snow flutters downward from the sky in winter.

I guess thats one of the main reason why I feel I fit in pretty well with you folks here, as many of you give me the impression that you are of like mind. Paraphrasing that wise old saying, "An once of preparedness and improvisation equals a pound of cure for a an empty belly and unquenched thirst!"

Don't come knocking on my door during an emergency demanding anything! I'd sooner give you something that Ajax won't wash off! Knock on my door with hat in hand, a strong back, ideas and helpful solutions, and we both prosper!

One station in the Detroit area, when confronted by a local news crew, shut down the pumps rather than lower their gas prices to a reasonable level.

Doc

Could it be some of those gas station owners are related to some of the terrorists? Destruction from the outside and panic from within.

Thats how roumors get started;)

Just heard that fuel prices are not to go up. If anyone here in Texas sees any price gouging are to call this # and report it.

Called my brother in Little Rock, AR yesterday - he said it was over $4/gal up there. Mom said the same thing, except that at one of the few family-owned full service stations (w/ garage) in the nation was still at $1. 49.

A few of us here at work wondered about some of people running stations around here being bothers, cousins, etc. Seriously, I'm going to start giving my business only to stations that I know are owned by full-blooded Americans (like the ones that own the full service station above). Maybe this sounds like stereotyping, racism, etc. - it's not! I'm just going to pay more attention to making sure I help my fellow Americans.

TXRam, i filled up in North Little Rock yesterday afternoon and it was still at 1. 39. Glad i didn't have to stop at the station he saw! :D Prices should be back down today though. Attorney General made it real clear that there would be problems for stations that were price gougeing.

Mongoose,

He's actually just outside of Conway - but I didn't think very many people would know where that was.
