I COULD NOT WAIT ANYMORE ON EDGE i broke down and called Jon @ City Muffler and Performance 800-492-4544 (super nice guy) and he is sending my first real bomb's. i guess i will just have to stack the ez and juice whenever it comes out:D

i have on the way a 5" turbo back exhasut system and EZ.

when i get the system i will take some pics and try to get some good sound clips on this website (dont know if i am capable of that) but i will at least get pics and let you know how the 5" install goes. Jon has a couple of different mufflers. i am going to try the straight through first. Jon is a new guy on the TDR block and good to do business with.

:)

The 5" is going to be quite a bit louder than our current exhaust. I have the 5" and wish I would have gone with the 4". BTW you can't "stack" the EZ and the juice. The juice is made specifically for the Duramax. What you can "stack" is the EZ (currently avaiable), and the COMP (should be out by mid Octobler). Good luck with the new exhaust system.

I think you will be happy with your EZ. I just put mine on and I love it! I wasn't to impressed at first... then I put it on level 6 and well level 6 awsome! Way more impressive then level 3 was. Next on my list is exhaust but I am going to get my pool table refelted first.

The best thing about the EZ is how EZ it is to install and get that kinda power and torque! On a gas motor you would have to spend about 2k in mods and then tear the whole engine apart to get that kinda power. Or throw a supercharger on it for 2k and then hope you don't melt a piston. This whole diesel thing is just so awsome! I love starting my cummins up every morning and now with the EZ it is so much more fun to drive.

JD,

how does your transmission like the EZ? It doesn't slip the TCC?

I was just wondering how a stock 48RE will respond to the extra power. ;)

watch using #6. the reason i say this i b/c the only 2 problems i have seen on this board is when #6 was used during race situations. hate to burst you bubble is the box that lame on #4? will i be disapointed. from what i understand its not like ez on the pre 03 where you feel the power early. the power comes on later. whatcha think? jon gonna hook me up with a comp latter anyway i am going to give this box to my dad.

I haven't tried level 4 yet. I will try it tomorrow and let ya know. level 6 is alot better than level 3 though I can tell you that. So far the transmission is holding it just fine. It just really needs a different shift program when in level 6 while towing cause your throttle position is alot less than it normally would be.

On level 6 the power comes on right away as soon as you blip the throttle it is there, instantly! On level 3 it comes on alot later not near as soon, thats why I like level 6 better.

Hey Cat,Just put my 4" on with the straight thru muffler and it sounds like a V6 with turbo mufflers on!It is the same muffler I had on the 02 and the sound is nowhere near as good as the 02. Has a weird rasp to it. Almost as loud as my 96 with straight pipe!

i am told they are going to call it juice just like they do for duramax.

Regarding the EZ...

Saturday night, a friend loaned me his EZ. It was set on lvl 4. Plugged the thing in, started the truck. . no codes, so I was off to "feel the power"...

I have the HO/48RE BTW

I stomped the go pedal (without holding the brake to build boost), she started to lumber forward as usual, but THEN, the turbo spooled up way quicker than usual, whabam! The tires lit up:eek: !!! She caught traction about 2 secs later, and we were off baby! I was quite impressed with the thing. I will be buying one very very soon... gonna get gauges for sure first though. It was fun to play around with for a few hours though!

Throttle response was way better, and I could pretty much break the tires loose at will when I was doing less than 20mph or so.

HOWEVER, after having it for a few hours, I can see how you would start to feel like it didn't really own up to the price. I got used to the power REAL quick, and after an hour or so, I found myself wanting more.

When I took the box off to give it back, got back in to leave though I could SURE tell that power was missing :{ . SO I challenge anyone who has gotten complacent with their edge to unhook it for an hour or two... "don't know what you got till it's gone". . or so they say.

I had borrowed the box b/c some of us TDR's from Mid Tenn were going to a local tractor pull where there was to be a diesel class. We lined up 7 CTD's from 95 to my '03. . some stock some hot. The Hot Dog of the bunch pulled a 420'. I managed so sqeak out a 356' run. I was very happy with the edge's performance during my outing.

I'll have some video of the pulls here in the next day or so if anyone is interested. There was a PSD 4x4 dually there, and the owner of it had given us crap ALL night. . he pulled a 310'... even funnier, he got stuck up to the axles in mud in the parking lot... . Oh YEAH. . our 95 snatched his sorry behind right outta there :D... to be obstinate, he locked up his brakes as soon as he was free from the muck, but the CTD just kept on draggin him. (the driver of the 95 CTD didn't know it at the time). Yep, got that all on tape too.

I never managed to slip the 48RE either btw. It seems to handle the power very well.

See ya guys!

Andy

Andy,

i see you only got 50 posts but i really enjoyed that last one. sounds like you are going to fit in perfect around this TDR bunch. 350' nice showing for basically stock 03'

glad to hear of your impressions of the ez. my ez should be here today. i cant wait. so you never got a chance to run the ez on level 6? i am going to try level 6 only when i am around my uncle who lives in mississippi (cocky chipped powerstoke owner)

has anyone dynoed level 6 on the ez to see what the gain is?
