I've read all the posts and nobody seems to be having the same problem . It seems like there is a 5 second delay from a dead stop . We've checked fuel pressure at the filter housing and the injector pump . Tried reseting the TPPS . No luck . Help .

Beernuts, can you give a little more detail as to exactly what happens?

It sounds like when you are sitting at say a stop light idling, then you hit the throttle, nothing happens for ~5 seconds. Does the engine RPM at least increase, or not? Is it a delay until the transmission engages? Do you have an auto or manual transmission?

The more detail you can provide, the better other members will be able to help you get the problem figured out.

I doubt it would be this easy. If his fluid was low, his torque converter would probably not fill up and he wouldn't go anywhere.

I have very same symptoms and looks like I have a VP44 prob. Getting a new VP installed next week so we will see if this is the case.

Beernuts and kbond - how many miles on your trucks?

only 26000 on mine. I screwed up though and grounded my Comp wrong. This leads us to think we popped the VP.

I had this same problem too!! But with a little help and alot of patience from the wife now I up to 15 sec delay!!!!! ;) :D

Let me know if you guys figure this glitch out. If it would help I have a LOW Mileage vp 44. . ?? Kurt

There's a thread in the eng/trans. new products forum asking about an accessory called a "Happibox" (of all the dumb names). The included link describes problems with the Accelerator Position Sensor which include sluggish throttle response. Could be a path to a solution? Sounds like the signal from that sensor is delicate at . 02 volt which can be caused by transient surges from almost anything electrical.

(KWIKKURT, maybe you named the "happibox"? :D )

thanks for the response. seems to be getting worse. sometimes the delay is more like 10 seconds. if i don't have a running start at a hill it will dog it all the way up. i get about 5 psi of boost during the delay and on the hill. are these all signs of a injector pump? only code i am getting is 1693. 65000 miles on the truck .

5psi is low. I had my VP44 replaced today and my delay is now a bad memory from the past. Got the comp pump wire hooked up and I'm back in the sattle. Hope you don't have to replace your pump but after exhausting all efforts everywhere else, my original suspision of the pump being the prob. was indeed the case.

Now it sounds like no Air things to check Air cleaner , hose to turbo, waste gate actuator, hose to intake and inter-cooler. turbo blades, etc . While back member had a rag in intake he forgot to remove after working on intake system. Other member had critters build nest in air cleaner. Look around check air intake from start to finish. Some one will come up with the answer . LOL Ron Bissett in Metro Louisville kY keep:)
