5 spd. life?

hey,I was wondering about how long a 5spd. in my 98. 5 3500 will last?,i pull 12,000lbs less than half the time. THANKS

Mine lasted 196k miles. I tow 2 trailers, one at 13k and one at 14k. When mine went out I was on the interstate on cruise-control. The input shaft was stripped of all it teeth. Installed one from Standered Transmissions with the 5th gear shaft reworked.

When people say you will wear out 3 trucks around one engine, I believe that's the truth. When the transmission quits there is no warning. You stop and it just won't go again.
