I have my transmission out of my 94 right now, so i thought it would be a good time to look for a 98 and up top cover. Anyone have one to sell or know where i can get one? Thanks,

Lance

What are you referring to by top cover?? I took my five spd out a couple of years back, and have all the parts in a box... Are you looking for the top part that bolts to the top of the transmission with the shifter knuckle attached?? let me know. . I can possibly hook you up.

You got two of 'em?!?!?! :) I'm in the same boat. transmission on the ground, looking for the top cover at the right price. The throw between gears on my 96 is a country mile.

Chris, that sounds like the right part.

Thanks,

Andy

Chris he is talking about the top cover of the transmission. Where the gear shifter connects to the transmission.

The older style "mile long shift throws" had a raised tower on the top cover with a stub that shifter was attached to. You had to take two long screw drivers to pressdown and twist to release it.

The newer style has a straight shorter shifter lever. The raised portion of the top cover actually unbolts with 4 bolts and makes R&R and transmission a lot easier. The shifter arm screws onto the stubb which is part of the removeable top.

There... ... . clear as mud right? :-laf

Sure glad I found mine at the same time I came across my scream'n deal on my SBC DD. Oo. Both are GREAT! Oo. I couldn't imagine going back to that grand canyon throw.
