hasselbach said:well, you may feel this way until you actually drive a Allison equipped trans behind a diesel, then you will want that extra gear. The Allison has a much lower 1st and a higher 5th. . why would you not want the bigger gear spread?
dodge, wake up, get a 5 speed auto soon.

gm wont put more than 590 #ft through them.
the reason that tst box comes w/torque setting is 'cause the transmission cant hold power below 1900rpms. that was a quote from mark chapple.
some guys have made 500hp/1000#ft w/the dm/at and they have put 5k in the trans then complain that it's not holding.
also the 47re has many trucks at 1200#ft some at 1500#ft and lots of reliable miles on them. .
thats why![]()

is yours stock ? do you tow anything?
are your # real? I ask 'cause there is a d-max around here that said he was 500+ hp and when he pulled next to me at a stop light..... the next time I talked to him he had lots of excuses! he was :{ and I was :-laf
I am not trying rip on the allison if left stock they are good but they are expensive from the get go and they are expensive to bomb and they wont last if you turn up the power and leave them stock!
