Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 5 speed conversion

just got an 89 cummins and thinking about putting the 5 speed out of that truck and putting it in the 00 cummins any thoughts and suggestions

Thats not a good idea. The G360 was problematic with stock power and really not that great a trans. The Goerand auto is far the better transmissioion.

bad idea... if anything u need to find wrecked 6spd truck round same year so u would have ALL the parts to convert... is no easy task to do properly.

yep, decided against it to much work not enough time, going to use cummins to repower duetz tractor and scrap rest of truck

Put a good clutch and a torque gold shaft in it and it's a great idea. Quad 4x4. It fixed all my problems and I did it myself.
