Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 5 speed transmission problem ?

I was driving home when I went to shift from 4th and it was a little harder the I got it out now when i have it in 4th it comes out real easy, easier then any other gear. almost like if you just bump it it would pop out while driving. what did i break? how long could/should I drive it? where should I take it to get it fixed? A local trans shop?

I just had the same problems with 3rd gear. I had a guy in Pittsburgh rebuild the transmission & thought it was good, but turned out that it happened again. Then I got Doug at Advanced Diesel Technology to rebuild it. He put brass synchros in & located my problems... bad detents. I would recommend Doug to anyone... . transmission didn't shift this good when I bought the truck. Tell Doug that Jamie said to call... . he'll treat you right. 304-864-3399. If you need the truck & can't afford down time... . call Blumenthal & order a new transmission. I've heard nothing but good things about Blumenthal.
