I just installed my stacks today and I can't wipe the smile off my face!! I now have the sound I have been looking for and of course it looks way cool. :D :D :D :D I installed a short Dynomax bullet muffler to tone it down a bit and make the inspectors happy. The noise seems to be no problem heading down the road with the windows up. I can hear the sweet sound back there but it's not over powering at all. Almost seems I have gotten rid of the 2200 rpm drone I had with the Jardine, which I had nearly straight piped (pipe through most of muffler). I will have to drive it more to really know but so far so good. :) The smoke and the heat waves look real cool. I will post pictures at some point. Wish I had a digital camera so I could do it now. Ok I will step down off my stool now and go do something wonderful.

Outstanding!!

Stacks are the best:D I straight piped mine turbo to tail a few days ago and it is great. I think the stacks sound even better. I'm wondering if the 2000 rpm resonance relates to the system length, and the stacks help by splitting the flow and being different length from side to side. Just a thought.

Question?

Mark, i have twin 5 inchers straight piped on my truck right now, they sound real good puttin around town but its just toooo damn loud going down the interstate, would you happen to have the part number on your dynomax muffer and maybe a sound clip. and maybe the best place to get a down pipe, i have the stock one right now. thanks alot, jon

Jon, The part number for the muffler is WLK-24217. I bought it from Summit Racing. It's a race only muffler so it doesn't do a lot I'm thinking. It's a straight through 4" with only a 5" overall OD and it's only 16. 5" long. It does have packing inside around the perforated tube. I don't know but it might still be too loud for you. I have not had a real good test yet on a longer ride and up lots of hills. My first impression was that it was pretty good. Of course I never heard these stacks straight piped so it might be doing more then I know. It sounds pretty loud with the windows down but I'm not used to the exhaust exiting right behind the cab either so it's hard to say. As for a good place to buy a down pipe I really don't know where the best price is. I got mine with a complete 4" Jardine kit. Maybe you could call up Pinnacle Performance and ask Jerry Jardine if he could send you a down pipe only. Here is their number 1-800-934-3569. Hope this helps.
