5 Star Service, My A**!!!

I can't believe it. My 6th gear went out 10 days ago, that's all my fingers and both thumbs when I count them up, and I still can't get my truck back! I called my service rep yesterday afternoon, as I do every day to bother him and get an update, and he says that they still can't get the parts! I asked him where they are, and he says that he has no idea. All they're waiting for is the new gear, everything else is in. I suggested he go outside and pull the transmission off one of those nice new trucks he's got sitting there on his lot, and he just laughed at me. So here I am, 10 days riding in my girlfriend's Toyota Camry wagon (Puke!), no end in sight to my dilema, and a service guy (oxymoron for sure) who won't even pick up the phone and find out what the hold up is on my parts.

By the way, the dealership is Zangara Dodge here in Albuquerque. I highly recommend not visiting them if you have a problem with your truck. I'm so mad at them right now it makes me sick. As soon as I came in to get it fixed, the accusations of BOMBing started flying, even though I'm still stock. They were looking for an excuse to not cover my warranty before they even took the thing off my hands. AAAAAARRRGGGG!!!! I want my baby back!

I hear ya... arbitration and 9 trips to my (5 star) dealer to fix a transfer case leak. They honestly acted like they were doing me a favor by honoring the warranty. This was one of many issues with the Dodge boys... Best of luck.

You can add Hooks Ford Dodge in Granbury, Texas to this list.
Took 8 time to their repair Dept. To get a leak in the fuel tank fixed. They replaced the sending unit. Got it back and could not fill it full or the gasket would leak around the sending unit. They told me that you could not fill the Dodge trucks to the top or they would all leak. Told me to just fill it almost to the top. Have not been back since and will never go back. This is not the only story out there about them. Go to Bruners in Stephenville they are the best.

I have yet to see a GOOD "5 SCREW DEALER". I have been bent over (felt cheated and lied to) several times by the infamous 5 screw dealers like Dodge of Bellevue, WA. When they drove my truck into the "rack" distroying the rear fender of my new dually. Well these things can happen to anyone right? Ah, but when they said they didn't have rental cars. So I said you can rent me one and they gave me a hard time and told me they would not pay over $30 for the car. These are what I consider scum bags and do not have one once of integrity.

This is really bad, Lithia Dodge in Medford OR. They did the vacuum line recall on my 2500, no problems, but the stereo sounded funny afterwards. Come to find out the tweeters are missing from the doors!! I called the truck sales manager, didn't what to deal with the service dude, he said he'd take care of it and send me some speakers. I said I'd install them since I live far away. Speakers came and the way the wires were cut diagonally exactly matched the cut wires in my door, they were my old speakers!! I never found out what was going on with this crap and have never gone back. My bet is the blame lies with an individual employee rather than the dealer, but I'm taking no more chances with them.

Now for the Monday update: My parts finally came in! Did Zangara call me to give me the good news? Hell no! When I asked when they would do me the honor of fixing my truck after letting it collect dust for eleven days, they asked, "how's Wednesday sound?" Of course I told them that would be totally unacceptable. I finally got the service manager, and was told that he'd pull some strings and get it done today. So I peddle my happy rear down there, about 15 miles, to see my baby, and OOPS! Sorry, we couldn't get a rack for your job. After my tirade subsided, I was told that tomorrow was a new day, and they'd "TRY" to get it up there in the morning. Do I smell like pondscum, or is doing my warranty work just not very high up on their list of priorities? Looks like I picked the wrong week to give up drinking...

ReggieRam, Don't get discouraged. You own the finest diesel powered pickup that has ever been made. You know this already and thats what makes driving anything else an unbearable unacceptable experience. I was stuck driving mt wifey's flyerstone tire shod Ford Explorer (I tried to put her into a Crown Vic... no dice) for eight days while my Ram waited for a lift pump. You WILL get your Ram back, and after running her up thru the gears a couple of times, all will once again be right with the world. Trust me... . I've been there... . and yes time does seem to stand still while waiting. #ad

I have not had any Major Work done on my truck but you can give Mike Quinn Dodge in Tulsa OK a Thumbs up!! Took my truck in thursday for the coolant noise TSB and to have some windnoise fixed. They called me at 12:30 saying it was done. They fixed both problems under warranty no questions asked.

I am one up on you...

My brother bought my 89 Spirit ES from me, the engine needed work. The original dealer did the work, after they got the engine in they decided to start the car, IN GEAR. It started right up and went across the garage running another guys car over.

The dealer failed to call my brother or my parents for 30 days while the front end was being re-built!

Next time go to the Augie Boy's, they will talk to you and you can talk to them. Their parts counter flunky is only worth asking for parts manager, he is good. Much better than any ALBQ dealers.

I hope my truck doesn't have any major problems while under warranty... ... I'm scared to death to take it to those pathetic excuses for 5* service dealerships!

Let it happen afterwards, I'll either fix it myself or take it to some private shop who's quality is vastly better than a dealer's.

You think your P$SSED. Add V-W Motors of Cooperstown ND to your list of A$$HOLE dealers. After complaining to them for a year and a half about low power issues and poor fuel mileage they said go ahead and put after market injectors in and see if that helps. Well long story short they voided my warrany just to get rid of my truck issues. Moral: NEVER TRUST ANY ONE.

If DC requires a 98% satisfaction rating then these folks are not only cheating their customers but also cheating DC and all the GOOD dealers that earn the 5 Star rating. I feel that once DC or it's dealers get your money, then that's the end of your service as well. I am amazed of the lack of honesty and integrity I have witnessed. What is most disturbing is that after the dealerships are aware of the customer service issues like parts stolen from the vehicle while in the dealers shop, extensive damage to the body and downright lying to the customer, they still do nothing to make it right or clear their name = SCUM BAGS

I think we need to publish a list of TDR 5 star dealers. And a list of dealers to be avoided. I have one to add to each list. I beleive some of these dealers would change their ways if they saw their name on the "TDR Bad Dealer List".
And the good ones need to be recongized more than the bad ones... . Just an idea...
