Finally got to talk to someone who treated me like a human being. After being assured yesterday that I was the very next truck on the lift, I called this morning to hear that they still wouldn't be getting to my truck today.

That did it! I called the GM of the dealership and informed him of my lack of satisfaction with his dealership. I was promptly called back and told how sorry they were for my problems. Someone was sent to my house to pick me up and drive me to a rental car place, where I was promptly placed in a shiny new Geo Metro to drive until my truck sees a little TLC hopefully tomorrow. I'm still ****** , but at least someone out there in service land feels a little sympathy and treated me like a consumer. Now if I can just keep Nutter and Puff from driving over me while I'm driving that Metro...

For any of you that live in or pass through East Texas I can hold a thumbs up for Weaver Bros in Kirbyville, Texas. Never had major work done on the truck, just small stuff... always willing to go extra mile.

Case in point... my mom bought a Chrysler Town & Country from them. She has had several small problems, ie, leaking oil pan, leaking master cylinder, ABS sensor go out. The last time we brought it in they gave her a 7 year 75,000 mile warranty. That's a $1,300 value for free!!!!!

To top it off they have even picked the van up on one occasion at her house, which is about 65 miles from their dealership and left her a vehicle to drive. Now that's 5 Star Service!!!!

And the good ones need to be recongized more than the bad ones... . Just an idea...

Good idea, one thing that I've discovered is that the dealers that aren't five star are usually better.

The good dealer list has been talked about in the past but never have seen anything come of it except these occasional type of posts. Don't know if there's a political factor involved or not but I can add a GOOD non-five star dealer to a list (and have mentioned this dealer before) in Utah. Carrington Dodge in Morgan, UT, fifteen miles or so east of Ogden, UT and their BOMB friendly. It's an hour and twenty min drive for me but worth every minute to avoid the 5star dealer 10 minutes away. That's not to say their going to overlook every BOMBed situation regardless but their resonable about each circumstance. Good people.

Maybe we should make a list and have a tally in the good column and a tally in the bad column. Then each reader can post their experince with that dealer. Have a column for 5-star where it is checked or not. And a column for BOMB friendly, checked or not. 10 good votes and 1 bad vote, I take my truck there. 10 bad votes and 1 good vote, they will never see me.

OK so lets say the TDR does not want to get involved. Sounds like a nice little project for someones website. When we see posts like this, we can always refer people to that site. Just an idea.

I think they have to keep a 98% happy rating for customers. I wonder why they don't lose their rating. I traded in Amarillo and had good luck. It is better than the dealer where I actually live at.

FWIW, I have an informal Dodge dealer survey running on my web site at http://dodgeram.org/buying_info/survey_dealer/Dealers.htm

Entries are sorted by state, then alphabetically. Good and bad are on the same page - the survey results are often contradictory, depending on the reporting individual experience. On some dealerships, there is a definite good/bad trend.

With an official count of Registered Members on 04/19/2001: 7094 And we grow by the day that does not leave much room for D/C to Slack off and upset people. Personally I like my dealer so far and, after reading horror stories such as these and others to be found within the TDR kinda makes me uneasy. Upsetting when some of us spend upwards of $40,000. 00 on a vehicle that we saw as being fit to our scrutinizing tastes. Scheesh most warrantee claims are under 200. 00 and thats even if the owner brings it in for whatever is wrong. Oh well Hope all have resolved their problems once and forall and my fingers stay crossed that I have found a dealer I can call "home". #ad
