Boost gauge tie in

I am thinking of buying a 6 spd to swap with my 5spd in my 96 2500. I am also going to buy a hd transfer case. How hard, or is there anything special i need to know before trying to tackle this. I am wondering if it will be pretty much a bolt on system or not. Anything i need to know before i do this?

This truck is going to be used for pulling so i would like the better transmission.

Also does anyone have any pics of pulling hitches. I am thinking about buying enterprises hitch but i would like to know what it looks like. If you have a enterprise hitch please show a pic.

Easy enough job with a transmission jack and some patience. On a 96 you will most likely have to change the crossmember. Other than that, you are probably upgrading the clutch anyway and you will have to change the driveline lengths by 51/2 inches and lengthen the transfer case shift rod. Six states distributors has the kits and the 6 speed transmission if you havn't found a transmission yet.

Blumenthal also has everything you need. Trans, SB clutch, adapter kit. Ask for Don - good guy and helpful. You'll need the wider cross member from a '98 up and shorten/lengthen driveshafts as mentioned above. It's pretty much a bolt in. Do a search - there's a ton of info about it. SMorneau also changed to a 6.

I took it one step futher and went from an auto to 6 speed (see sig. ) Let me know if you have any questions, I'll try to help you out!
