Folks,

My truck is now 5 years old and has approximately 37K miles on it. 30% of the miles was spent towing an 11,000 pound fifth wheel and the remainder general driving. I’m pleased with the truck and have had only minor issues with it. I’ve done the typical oil and fuel filter changes, returned it for all recalls, but that’s about it.

With spring here I’m now able to work on the truck. Does anyone have any specific things I should be looking at as I clean her up? Here’s my current plans:

• I recently changed to two new batteries

• I’m planning on 6 new tires this summer

• Transmission fluid change and finally adding the temperature sensor for after-market gage

• A real wash and wax

Thanks,

John

My truck is also an '08 but has a lot more miles on it than yours. Some maintenance items are not necessarily based on miles alone.

Air filter changed?

Coolant should be changed based on age not miles.

I think the owner's manual calls for a 25k differential fluid change interval on AAM axles. I change mine at 50k intervals.

Belts and hoses could require change and should at least be inspected. Some climates cause earlier deterioration.
