Just watched a pull competition on ESPN2. The owner of the Silver Bullit is running a 3208Cat with multiple turbo,3 or 4, 100 psi of boost and some sort of ignition(spark plug?). The claim is 5000 HP... ... ... . with a 3208?... ... . I'm skeptical... ... ... . a 3208?... ... .

Question  Does the owner of the rig making the claim have a dyno sheet showing this  Next question would be, is there a dyno than can even run a number of 5,000 hp  Not saying he does not have it, but the old skeptic meter is pegged on this one. ;)

If you look into it you will find that the Silver Bullet has been converted to alcohol. Uses about 26 gallons per minute. do a search on google for Silver Bullet. Interesting reading.

Hmmmmmmmmm  Wonder what internal mods were done to the engine? I am still skeptical, but now I am curious about what they have done and how they arrive at their claim of X-amount of hp ;)

Billet alum heads, titanium crank and rods, "custom" block. They have their own in house chassis dyno. I dont doubt their around that mark. If we can make 1400+ with a little 359 ci. twin staged turbo, six cylinder, still running farm fuel and olde tyme technology. Then it's feasable with a 640 ci. quad two staged alky injected V8 with cutting edge technology and an unlimited budget, and a whole fleet of eager customers for your test bed.

The lustik's or there engine builder has proved that you can take a steaming pile of dog poo ( cat 3208 engine) and make it run, with just a little money  . I wonder what they could do with a good engine and the at same amount of money?

Ya, iv'e seen Jordan take some really wild rides, you have to have really quick reactions and really good luck and equipment to keep both tires in the dirt.

Mundgyver, They have a chassis dyno that operates off the axles (ie: directly connected)

Blow out one tire causing me to build a dukes of hazzard style gate in a fence... ... .

Actually crashed through the fence only a couple houses down from the colorado powerstroke club founders home.

Stinking bridgestone tires, just when I was whuppin up on some black car, then POW!!!

That's a pretty damn good tractor there. I also like Don Nelson's Texas Bullwhip. It's got two big blcok chevys and an alky fueled, twin turbo 466 that's supposedly putting out 3000 ponies by itself.

So it is by the seat of the pants method, or at least under the seat. :-laf Are they using a torque tube with sensors or strain type sensors
