Changed my Michelin LTX at 94000 although tire dealer said could have gone 100K easily. Bought the same tires again even though I am not a big Michelin fan. Only bought 3 and used the brand new spare as the 4th, keeping best of the original 4 as a spare.

Tires finally worn down @ 79,000 miles. Replaced brakes ( front) at70,000 miles. Replaced tires with same ones that came with it, Michelins. Best wear I've found yet. Now will my 2003 get the same wear out of the Goodyears..... NOT!!!!!!!!!

Man I just don't get it. I'm sure part of it is the part of the country you guys are driving in. Here in Pa. we have up and down hills, and all around the curves. I'm generallly not hard on equipment although I might drive alittle fast (more than alittle) but speed in itself won't wear tires at TRIPLE the rate.

My tires will last 30,000 for sure and if I leave then on till really bald, I might get 40,000. By then I'm sure the cords will be showing. I now have 26,000. Heading for Arizona on Sunday 1-4-04. Hope the tires make it both ways. Iffff they make it both ways I'm betting they will need replace upon my return.

Oh yeah, better than half of the milege is carrying a slidein camper weighing 3,000, that probably excellerated the wear, but still, 30,000 compared to 90,000. WOW

Happy trails to ya

I am running a set of Michelin LTX AT on my dually and they are wearing like iron, but wet weather and snow traction sucks. These tires are so hard that when I roast them, they eat the pavement and leave 4 white marks on black top:--) . I will be buying another brand next time that gets better all weather traction. I would rather have traction when I need it, than tires that last forever. I also miss the tire smoke too ;) .

Conditions matter

Thats just it tho. A friend of mine lives out central PA and drives 40 some odd miles each way to work and back and got a rediculous amount of mileage from the stock Michelins. So I asked how he gets to work and pretty much he takes a total of 4 turns

One out at the end of his road which is pin straight

up onto I 80 (Again Pin Straight for 40 miles)

off the exit a left onto some main road (Pin straight)

Left into his parking lot ... STRAIGHT INTO HIS SPACE

Y'all, I wish I had such good things to say about my truck.

20K and my stock Michelins were toast. This was on an unmodded truck, mind you. Passenger front tire wore the outside like crazy. Dealer replaced ball joints, but the problem remains.

Now at 49865 miles, I have replaced the front brake pads (at 22K) and my BFG AT/KO's are worn to the indicators on the passenger side. <sigh>, I guess I'll have to break down and replace the ball joints with adjustable ones.

I knew all this could happen when I bought the truck, so I'm not complaining.

Well I cannot say that I am 50k (125k to be exact) but I actually got 60k out of my stock tires with rotations ever 5k. I got 50k out of my first set and 48k out of second and still running on the third, I have never resurfaced the rotors and the rear drums are still original. All in all the wear and tear maint. on this truck has been minimal.

Wow, I have not had any problems like that. Replaced brakes at 90K, nothing on joints so far at 123K. I am easy on truck except when pulling 14K 5th wheel.

In all fairness to the truck, I should add that I drive some of the worst roads I've ever seen in Houston. There are potholes in and around off camber streets, and I sit in a lot of stop and go traffic (hence the wear on the brakes).

I give credit to the BFG's... they're holding up relatively well. The left side tires are only 1/2 worn with almost 30K miles on them. I truly believe the problem lies in a worn out track bar that was replaced about 2 months ago, and the ball joints I mentioned earlier.
