1999 #53

I have a 99 I'm at 59,000 miles totally stock cast #53 eng # 56493096. . So Far so good. . If it's gonna crack I hope it does it within the next the next 41,000 miles

I have a 99 w\build date 1-6-99 and sn\56539883. I know where to look for the 53 number but I have one of the blocks with no number. The 53 number area is smooth and I read a reply to a post awhile back and someone stated that the blocks with no numbers are some of the updated blocks. I hope this is true. Anyone know about this?

Truck assembly plant has no bearing on what kind of block your truck has.

All the B series engines used by Chrysler are assembled in Columbus Indiana (home of Cummins).

me esn is 56396603 with a biuld date of 1-15-97 and truck date of 10-97. if it cracks i wil fix it, if it doesnt i am sure there will be other things to fix, crap happens and there is nothing we can do about it. but it would be nice if something does come of this legal action. 96K on th odo.

53 Block

Well I knew I had the 53... . No mistaken those big numbers on the side of the block. I had to go out & check the engine serial # and guess what I found?... ... . 56512150... ... It's definately before the 56878917 ESN and compounded with the BIG 53!

I'm at 119,000 and hoping for the best!
