Mostly 98. 5 - 00 and the 53 is on the bottom left front of the block under the vaccum pump. Some have the casting on both sides.

53 club member here as well. I found the 53 number behind the oil filter as well as just below the VP44.

Yep. 182,000 on it. One day it was fine and the next... 5 inch crack#@$%!

The 53 block started at the beginning of the '98 model year. I'm part of the '98 12-valve 53-block club :-laf

How come Monaco motor coaches recalled all there 53 blocks and replaced them for free before they all cracked, and us poor sorry @$$ Dodge owners are getting no respect. Oh well anyway my 53 will be replaced soon, POS.
