Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 53 Block

I've purchased a 2002 ETH/DEE. If I can't find the "53" below the IP on the block does that mean it is not? Or should there be another number there? I don't see anything but I want to make sure I'm looking in the right spot.





The main question: If there is not a 53 there should there be another number instead if I'm looking in the right spot?

NO 53 blocks in any '02 trucks I am aware of...

My 01. 5 has 55 on the block, it should be marked, you either have a 55 or a 56 more than likely. Some are marked on the right side, don't know exactly where.

If you cant find any recognizable numbers, i. e. , 55, 56 etc then you have a Mexican block. Many consider the Mexican blocks to be the best.
