Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) "53" block

What is the problem with the "53" block? I tried to search the forums but it didn't like "53" as a search term.

Casting is thinner on the "53's" and more prone to craking. I'm a member of the club, ah well chances are still slim... ... .

For searches with only 2 letters, add an asterisk to it then search.



Search for "53* block" for example.







Are there certain years that have the 53?

53 Block

That block started in 1997 cpls were 2449,2570,2872,2574,2572

It was in the late 12V engine also check the cpls to see if yours is in that group
