Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 53 Engines??

I am just starting to look to upgrade my 93 Dodge to a 98. 5-01 truck. I have heard small comments over the years of the engines begining with number 53. What is the situation, what happens if you get one, should I make a point to stay away from these engines? Where can I find the numbers? Were they in all trucks of a certain vintage??

usually 99 - some 01's - look on left side of block, twoards the front, just above the pan & just below the VP44. Cast in big numbers "53". For more info do a search for "53 block" and stand by.
