I have recently noticed a subtle but annoying squeak coming from my truck. It appears it is coming from somewhere around wear the transfer case levers comes through the plastic console. It is pretty steady at highway speeds and is noticable with the radio off. When driving tit seems as if the transfer case lever will move back and for a very slight, but noticable amount. I think it may be rubbing on the console underneath? Any one else had any problems with this? I am thinking about taking it to the dealer, but hate to see the reaction i get from them. But a 35 k truck should not have a squeak at on 5500 miles.

Mine did that too, but it didn't start until I used some of that spray stuff like Armor-All. I never really could tell exactly where it was coming from, but I think it was the folds in the shifter boot rubbing together. It was driving me crazy. I sprinkled some baby powder on the shifter boots and rubbed it in and dusted it off with a dry rag and it quit.

Yes, I have that exact same noise. I haven't really done anything about it except push the boot down when it squeaks. That always cures it for me. I have thought about wiping some lube oil around it.
