Wow you make my 01 with 260K seem pretty new. What do you do to get all the miles. Also have a 94 2WD farm truck with 300K, can I add them together? Jake

Your experience with your truck could be a great source of information for the rest of us. How about posting a list of parts you've repaired or replaced and the corresponding odometer reading. It would be valuable information that will help other owners predict when certain parts will require rebuild or replacement.

Are you the only Airstream transporter? I've owned several Airstreams and have been to Jackson Center many times. I admire the product and always enjoy the factory tour.

I too am interested in parts and odo. readings. Mainly would like to know what number of VP44 are you on ( personally I hope your still on your first  :) )

Jerry Turbo:

Thanks for that information. I'm going to print your maintenance record on paper and put it in my truck file.

You mean you replaced or repaired nothing until 300k?

Harvey

Jerry, your truck has done great,im sure your driving style has a lot to do with it also. And notice theres another MY 2000 VP44 thats gone the distance!

I love hearing good things about the VP44's !!!

There seems to be a increased rate of pump discussions lately. Which is a good thing !! But it also causes me to worry a little. But yours is the second REALL GOOD story concerning the VP44's that I've heard this week :) . Also, I seconed the fess up on any and all fuel addatives you've used, if you have ever used any.

What is your maintenance schedule?

Since you are a transporter I'd bet you only fuel at truck stops where you are more likely to get fresh, clean fuel. If you also change your fuel filter on a regular basis that may account for the excellent service you're getting from lift pumps and the VP-44.

WHICH is CERTAINLY the LEAST we should all be doing on OUR trucks, at least *I* try to buy fuel at stations most likely to have fresh clean stuff, and monitor fuel PSI to make sure the pumps aren't starved for fuel - in addition, I *always* add both Power Service additive and ashless synthetic blend 2-stroke oil to the fuel to provide lost lubricity. If *I* don't get long life from my pumps, it WON'T be from neglect!
