How are they working, good/bad hard to tune ect. How do they drive day to day. I'm looking at a set of Haisley's and I'm looking for input.

Jim I've talked to Patty before about them and I'm sure if you have too she told you the same thing. Supposedly they are extremely touchy and shouldn't be used for street driving. However, I've yet to find anyone running them so I don't know. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if anyone chimes in.

In 2003, I set up the governor on my P7100 pump so it didn't cut back rack travel until 5400 rpm. I didn't use such a kit, which undoubtedly comprises extremely stiff springs. My setup was more "touchy" than a 4000 rpm governor kit, but not a lot more so. I drove it every day. I suspect that an easily installed, "drop-in" kit would be pretty intractible for street use.

I guess were going to find out, seems there are people that have them and haven't tried them out yet. They are being sent to me, so we'll get to find out what there like, good or bad I'll report he findings.

It's nice to have truck buddy's that take care of each other, guess that's like loaning my HX-40 to a bud 7 months ago... ... it's still in use.

buddy of mine runs a 4k kit w/ the high RPM throttle stop removed from the pump. he says the tach needle will point straight down! not sure how that'll work with an automatic w/ a TV cable though. probably overextend it

Talked to Jeff and he said " I'm just a shop not a retailer " so he sent me to Haisley's. Called them and they are on back order but will have them again soon.

I know a guy over on The Diesel Garage (Wrongway) that is using a 5k kit with an automatic, he hasnt driven them yet, but his builder says it'll fly!!

I like my 3k just fine, for now.

I would think you could get the 5K Gsk and set them loose, say 4500 and they would drive great. I know my 4K drove great with about 3300 rpm set. Once I cranked them down the touchyness got there.

The spring kit will make the "bigger" pumps more touchy than the snall ones like the 180 hp. The more fueling increase per mm rack travel, the more sensitive.

Without talking too much out of my butt there is allot in the springs as far as driveability. On 4K's if you set them at initial click + 2 there not that bad, add one more there a little more touchy..... that's were mine are at, after that the cruise control doesn't like it. I know the 5K's you set them at initial + 1, also remember that I ran a 13mm pump for years and I'm use to it. With it you cannot run down hill with the cruise one, at least not in my truck! Other than that there fine and I have prefected the wedged foot rollover to the throttle technique and do it without thought.

That is what I was trying to say, thanks Jim!
