Well I just finished my 5 speed swap and man is it sweeeeeeet. Put an '02 5sp in it I bought off EBAY. Thing runs real good, except in fifth were there is a little rattling noise? Not sure what that is. Was told using Chrysler gear oil may clear it up so I need to give it a shot.

Prices go as follows:

5sp= $550

Pedals, slave cylinder, Luk Pro Gold, shifter and boots, Flywheel, Bellhousing= $500

Driveshaft shortening and lengthning and 2 u-joints= $138

Flywheel bolts= $28

Rear seal for transmission= 12. 50

ATF and gear oil= $70

Odd bolts= $10

Flywheel resurfacing= $45

So far about $1395.

Still need a input gear for the Transfer case. Right now running a 24V case with no speedo. If anyone has one let me know.

Like driving a new truck. Now I need a 4gsk to make use of the extra power. Man I run out of RPM's fast!

Also does anybody have any ideas on what a core auto is worth? How about the pedal assemblies, input gear, and oil cooler? They're all for sale.

Were did you get the pedals and stuff? I want to do the same swap. Trannys are easy to find, The rest I havent seen with out buying a parts truck. For $1400 I would do it instead of fixing my auto

if that rattling noise sounds like a couple o loose bb's the nut may have come off the fifth gear thats what mine did a month or so before it popped off

I had the same problem with the speedo drive on the t-case tailshaft. It was one of the final things I hooked up and that is when I discovered the 98 tail piece had no speedo drive pickup. I stewed on this for a few days and decided that auto makers are all about profit so I removed the tail piece from the 98. I had already removed it from my 23 spline auto t-case that I wasn't using. I found that the 98 had the output shaft cut for the snap rings that hold the speedo drive on the shaft. I simpy removed the snap rings and drive sleeve from the 95 and installed them on the 98. I put the 95 tailpiece on the 98 case,hooked up the speedp wire and presto I had a working speedo.
