Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 5sp to auto swap.

Starter works fine, just needed the shorter bolts out of the donor vehicle. I swapped PCM, and engine compartment wire harness also.



PS all the 5sp stuff I took out is for sale in the classifieds. It would make a nice auto to 5sp swap.

Tell me this how much of a PITA was it to swap engine wiring harness? How much time involved with the wiring swap?

That was one of the easier projects, Probably took an hour. Its mostly plug and play other then the grid heater bolts, and the ones on the alternator.

was the donor truck a diesel or gas version? I am wanting to do this swap do to a recent 12' fall at work that broke my pelvis in 3 spots.

I can find gas trucks for next to nothing, but diesel ones are hard to come by.

Donor truck was diesel. Very much so needed for probably 7/8ths of the unique parts list vs. a gasser. Keep your eyes out for a wreck, a few magazines around here have rebuildable sections.
