I have seen lots of positive comments about the 5th Airborne Sidewinder hitch and have been trying to find a website for them to get some more information. Are they owned by Reese? Every search I run comes up with Reese, and their sidewinder design looks to be very different. Please steer me in the right direction.

Thank you.

We had the non sidewinder Fifth Airborne put on our 5th wheel. They are owned by Reese now.

I've had the 5th Airborne Sidewinder Combo for several years now and it is worth the money. I really like the Sidewinder because of the pivot point relocation making it easier to turn the 5th wheel which I had trouble with before the installation. It handles more like a TT in turns and parking.

I put a new 5th airborne on my trailer 04-06-10 and it worked the first 50 miles. Then the air went out and could not air it up. I need to get a hold of them and see why it will not hold the air. It took 60lb of air to put it at the line so I know I did not over air it.

What I have always done with my heavy trailer, is it needed 112 PSI to hold up to the line. I put the bag up to this pressure then let the trailer weight down on the hitch. This has always worked for me. . . my 36' 5th might be the same as your 38' if you have a 3 axle.

Is the hose routed in a way that is got pinched or something? If it held at first, then let go after 50 miles, that might be what happened. I also found out the cap sometimes would push in the schrader valve a little.

The air line to the the sir bag was bad! They sent me a new one and it works OK for now. It only took 3 days to get the part. That was very good of then they said that there was having trouble with that.

Thats good you got a new part. . I bet you can get commercial style airlines and adapters to work if needed. .

I have not had a problem with pressure. . all winter, my airbag held 80 psi. . never touched it for 5 months.
