Here I am

5th Annual MNTDR Dyno Day!

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Frest Start - Northern Tier TDR!

HTP diesel class meeting 12/16 St.cloud, MN

ME!

I may make 4 pulls (tho, $100 for 4 pulls seem harsh since I"m already strapped up. $75?)

Juice Attitude only (to prove that I'm not nutz about my seat of pants feel increase... . ).

Smarty on 9 only.

And 2 combos of the both I figure out at the track that runs the best.

Look for large TQ numbers with my truck with this Smarty and 3500rpm dyno pulls.

I don't set the prices. You'll have to talk to them. I know in the past they've been nice and allowed one at "stock" then one with just injectors, then box/injectors. As long as it's a VERY short turn around time... . Having 5 min between runs may be more of a charge. Again... you will have to talk to them the day of the dyno.

GREAT NEWS!!!!! For those of running the rollers on the 20th with a "STOCK" auto weather it be a Cummins or a Duramax, Goerend Transmissions is giving away a triple lock convertor.

So here is how to win the convertor:

To be fair that it goes to someone that can use it we have decided to give it the top HP of a truck that has a stock transmission. You will then be given a slip to fill out and return to me and I will get the convertor sent direct to you. So spread the word since this prize is worth over a grand.

Lets make this our best year yet,

Thanks Jim.

Josh,

After much playing around. Smarty + Juice = crap. I need a TST box essentially (this I knew, tho I had to try).

I'll prolly just do 2 pulls, Juice and the smarty to see on paper the difference.

Hey Jim,

Give Southbend a call. See if they will do the same for a Double Disk upgrade.

Tho. their may just be one or two stock clutched trucks there, so the rules may need to be a bit different?

Also, How does one prove one has a stock auto? Other then the persons word?

Jason,
Dave went out of his way for this one.

It would be pretty simple to see if it's a "stock" auto. A "stock" clutch would be harder to deturmine.

I guess since it's come up... . I'm sorry to any manual transmission owners that feel jaded because of the Torque Converter that Dave has donated. We can only give away what is given to us.

Ya it is pretty hard to hide an aftermarket convertor. Well unless, ummmmmmmm never mind... ... ... ... . lol.

I will agree with Josh's statement above, for the past 4 yrs we have had really no prizes to hand out... ... ..... so what we get and hand out is a true blessing. We are just going to make the best of it... ... ... . we have other things to offer too, the TC was a last min thing and I wanted word to get out as it can pull in a bigger crowd.

Later Jim.

Ya about stock , I have not done anything to my trans but fluid & filter , but bought it at 209,000 , how are we to know ,
I do know I need a TQ that I can not afford ,
I wasn't going to run , because I have not done anything because of the lack of TQ .
" WILL WORK FOR A TQ "

There you go John that is the idea... ... ... ... this gets those with stock autos a chance to win a great prize and something to shoot for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK Jason I have a few details to work out on this one, but we got a 250. 00 dollar certificate for a new clutch from Peter at SB.

Anyway now the clutch guys have something to look forward too.

John, I've been in your truck. . Either the auto is stock, or it's falling apart and performing like a stock :) :-laf :-laf

The triple loc convertor we have will be given to a person that runs the rollers with a stock auto. After reviewing some things we have decided that is the fairest way to win it.

Once you sign up to spin the rollers Josh Peters will ask you if you have a stock auto, you will then be given a ticket that will be drawn after the last diesel has spun the rollers.

This is to make it fair for everyone that could really use it. We have a lot more prizes to give away so most everyone will get something.

You will need to be present to win... ..... thanks Jim.

When the trans inspection ?
Hopefully before the run , because I could not tell ya either way .
Then I'll have to get a trans to go with it .

I got a KDP tap kit [ bolt , tap , lock tight , instructions - missing seals ] from TST , its not much but I'll through that in the prise pile ,
Speaking of which , should probably start a list of those that want to use the JIG for doing the KDP , I have not been to the new place , but have heard that it may be an issue to find a place to work , it requires an air compressor, I have a construction compressor , but low CFM , I will bring a generator & the compressor ,
Hay Josh , is there a chance that we could arrange a spot for a couple trucks mine with tools & what ever truck is getting the KDP done , to park ?
If there is interest I can get there early to get things going ?
Just thought I try to organize this in case there are enough that want that things dowel pins can get done with a one at a time , instead of all at once , give priority to the list generated here , but if you get on the list 1st , you need to get there early , so it will be a combination of list & who gets there 1st , it should take about an hour each [ Josh does that sound about right ? ]
FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO DO THIS , PRESSURE WASH YOUR ENGINE & CONCENTRATE ON THE IDLER PULLEY & FRONT COVER .
This jig [ and a number of others ] was made up by some TDR members for use by the membership & shipped around the country , I do not know all the history of the KDP jigs , just read about it & got one for our last gathering but we got it late , so it will be on its way to the next place sometime after this meet .

auto dyno not fair...... and here's why

I'm not going to dyno my buddies truck. so I have NO BIAS here at all. (to get this in the open... )

I was pondering. It should be a percentage of HP increase over stock factory specifications for that year of truck...

If you take a STOCK 03 auto and line up to a modded with enough stuff to put the transmission on it's limit 89, I'm sure the 03 will win.
