They other day i lost 5th gear, i thought it might have been the nut, but i did a fix on that so it wouldn't come off. I ended up pulling the transmission out and took off the rear cover. Come to find out that it was the 5th "cone gear" you might say. To better explain it, it is the gears on the bottom of the transmission, right behind the 5th gear syncrose. When you pull off the bottom clip, it is the first gear. Anyways, that gear slides on the shaft and it is splined. Well, all of the splines ripped out of that gear. Now, what i am trying to get to is there a replacement for that cone gear that is stronger then stock. I was thinking about going to a full splined rear main shaft, so that the top gear would be better off. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

That is the third weak point behind the nut backing off and the lack of spline on the mainshaft. Not much you can do but replace what's broken as far as I know. If you're going to pull the trans the mainshaft is a good idea at your power level but you can replace the piece you broke with it in the truck if I'm not mistaken.
