I've got to put some new tires on the 5th camper we just bought.

Camper weight tag says 12500 max gvwr.

The tires on it are Carlise 225x75-15 D rated.

Any recomendations on replacement tires?

I don't do any long distance camping just mainly the local state parks.

Thanks,

Scott

12,500 is heavy for 15 inch tires. Could be 9,000 lbs on the trailer tires. Check if you can buy 16 inch rims to fit the axles (check that you have clearance). If you can you could put 225/75R16 load range E (29. 4 inch diameter) you get a rating of 2680 lbs per tire. I would recommend Michelin XPS Ribs, fifth wheel trailers eat tires.

If you have the room, you can go to larger tires and get 3042 lbs per tire.

Do those 16" wheels come in a 6 lug?

what would be the best 15" tire I can haul that kind of weight with.

Yes, 16" wheels are available in 6 lug wheels. My camper has ST235/85R16 LOAD RANGE "E" tires on it. The bigger tires also provide better clearance between the truck and camper if you have a 4WD.
