brake controller question?

ok, as you can see from my post i have a 4x4. How many of you with similar truck have NOT had to flip axles on your fiver. I know our truck is high but i can't imagine that every fiver out there is too low.

Got a 32' Alpenlite. When hooked up, I have 5 1/2" clearance over the tail gate. Tows just a tad high (maybe 1-2" off level) but haven't had any problems towing... ;)

You can have the truck lowered or the fiver raised. I think the price for both are about the same. I paid $300. 00 on my fiver which had to have a 4" bean welded to the frame. It has the torque flex axles and couldn't be flipped.

4x4 5th wheel

I flipped my axles on my 5th wheel but also added some larger wheels and tires to the trailer to help with the stability. Dexter axle has a kit available to flip your axles ... ... ... . makes it really easy to do. Good luck!

Most newer 5er's are designed to adjust to fit 4X4's. They have some kind of axle adjustment. I'm in the process of buying a new McKenzie Millenium, and the dealer will adjust the 5er to fit my truck. I want at least 6' of clearance. I'm having airbags added to my truck before I get my new 5er. My existing 5er fits ok without airbags, but the rear of my truck sags too much. When I add airbags, I would definitely need to adjust the height of the 5er. Talked with my dealer. They can't flip the axles because of brake issues. However, they do have kits they can install which will do the same thing. $300 installed. I'll leave that to the next owner.

Man you learn a lot after you own a truck 5er combo. Guess that's why there is such a quick turnover in 5er ownership. I'm on my second one in two years. Hopefully the last for a while. :D :)
