5th wheel help

We are looking at purchasing a 5th wheel trailer to replace our tag along and was wondering what hitch I should get. The trailer is a Glacier Peak F26RKS that weighs 7100 pounds empty and has a max weight of 11,000. We have a 2013 3500 CC SRW long bed. I am also curious as to how much room there is between the hitch and front of the truck box as we have a 110 auxiliary gas tank in the bed now that takes up two foot.

What other things should I be aware of that I am too naive to know? As always, thanks for your advice and recommendations.

The best 5th wheel hitch, in my humble opinion, is B&W.

I concur with RVTRKN. I have one in my '12. To give you an idea if it fits I have 38 1/2" from the front to the hitch rails at the floor. Unless the tank sits way above the bed rails you shouldn't have any problems. You didn't say if it have the 5th wheel prep package? If it does the Companion Hitch from B&W has a specific hitch that will fit. The dimensions will be a different than mine. You can call B&W for the measurements, their customer service is excellent.

Thank you both. I don't have the factory predrilled fifth wheels wholes. Did you install the hitch yourselves? I saw a video on Youtube that made it look quite easy.

I run the B&W gooseneck flip over with the companion. That way I can tow both and will have a clean bed when empty.

Sorry, I was out of town for a long weekend. No, I had a local shop install it. They put a nice dent at the hole location and just brushed me off about it. The guy who did my spray in bed liner fixed it.
