I am looking for a decent 5th wheel hitch for my truck. any ideas? and if someone has one they are looking to get rid of let me know. Thank you.

I don't have a lot of towing miles like a lot of guys on this website, but I do like my B&W turnover ball and companion 5th wheel hitch. It may be a bit more money than some, but for me it was worth it. Check it out.

I installed the PullRite, which was highly recommended by Ken Lenger who was well respected on TDR. Ken, who left this web site about two or three years ago, researched everything he purchased for his truck and RV.

I picked the PullRite for many good reasons, but the best reason is that you can remove the hitch rails and left with a completely clean bed. Installation was a bear.

I also have a Pullrite and am very happy with it. Like Grizzly stated, it can be 100% removed from the bed. The brackets that attach to the frame rails are also very HD and don't require any drilling. I have pics of the hitch in my photo's on this site.

The oldest hitch maker in the US is Reese. They have sold more than any other company because they make an excellent quality fifthwheel hitch. Their products may be a little more expensive than some of the newer entries to the market, not sure, but their products are time tested. Mine has been in use since 2003 and has pulled trailers around 200k miles. It is still tight and works as designed. It does leave rails in the bed but newer Reese hitches do not.

It is possible to find good used Reese hitches on craigslist and many RV dealers take them in in trade for new hitches or when someone moves from a fifthwheel to a motorhome. They don't advertise them but sometimes if you ask they have one or two lying around.
