I'm still waiting for the bracket to come in. The dealer said it would be 3 or 4 weeks. That was 3 weeks ago. Hopefully we are getting closer.

Speaking of waiting, I finally got my Edge today and they sent me the wrong damn model!!! I have to wait until tomorrow to figure out what they are going to do to get the right one to me a timely manner. I have the Volant intake and MBRP exhaust ready to go, just have to wait for it to get out of the single digits...

I called Draw-Tite yesterday and they said they had the 30074 rail kit in stock. So I called the dealer that I ordered the kit from and they were going to check to see when they would get the kit. Hopefully it will be next week.

The 30074 rail kit bracket is at the installers. I have an appointment today to get the rail kit installed.

Jeepinjason - The 30074 rail kit was $321. 00, $150. 00 to install, 7-way pigtail $64. 75, and $10. 00 to install in bed. The rail kit bolts around the frame. There was no drilling of the frame rails.

I too am running a 2006 Mega Cab, although mine is a 2500 SRW. I have been looking at the pullrites and agree that the autoslide is the way to go. My question is this. According to Pullrite you can only get the 16K Super Glide for the Mega Cab, how were you able to fit the larger 24K version?



I realize my truck would be oveloaded getting anywhere near what would require a 24K hitch. I am interested in the 24K as it slides back 4" further than the 16K. I have a "Back Rack" headache rack attached to the box and fear that the 14" the pullrite moves would clear the cab but not the rack.



Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I had a Pullrite dealer install my hitch in Indianaoplis. I would call the toll free Phone number listed on the website and talk to techinical services. I am sure the hitch will fit, I believe they only say the 16K will fit because of the towing speces for a 3/4 ton truck. The 2500 and 3500 trucks have the same size bed area and frame. The 24K hitch does cover more of the bed area because the slide rails are longer to give you the 4 inches extra travel. I also went for the extra travel not the extra weight capacity. I have a older 5th wheel camper with the pin box behind the front of the trailer not extended out in front like the newer 5th wheel campers are. I can not afford a new camper after buying a new truck for a few years so this was my way around the problem. I have taken about 5 camping trips with my truck, hitch and camper and it works great.

Also I have the hitch mounted with the brackets mounted under the bed so the bed in clean with hitch removed. They drill four one and a quarter diameter holls in the bed and four large 1 inch diameter pins drop in the bracket bolted to the frame and lock in place with a 90 degree turn. The hitch sits on these pins and locks to them. The 24K hitch weighs about 325 lb. You can chain hoist it out like I do or disassemble it into 3 major pieces to make it lighter to lift out. Lift out the hitch, turn the four pins 90 degrees and lift out and use your bed free of any obstructions to do what ever you want. I painted the egdes of my holes with a black rust preventive paint, yes I hate holes in my new truck but I throw in a bed mat with the hitch out and forget about it. The good part is that no holes are drilled in your truck frame for the bracket mounting (they use existing holes, smart engineering) thus your truck warrantee remains good.

I will be contacting Pullrite. Apparently the 16K hitch is being phased out and replaced by a 14K and an 18K. The website does not reflect this and details are sketchy. Maybe the newer ones have been engineered with more travel. I'll post a thread once I learn more.
