Hank Hill VS. Lo-Flush

hard starting jeep cherokee

Stupid is, stupid does.

I was expecting to hear that the 6. 0 hesitated as he was crossing the track. I hear they have been know to have that problem.

Ouch, I'm sure his insurance won't cover it because he was off-roading too. Well comprehensive might. Bummer for his insurance company.

Check out this article: Train Accident Leaves 2 Dead Near Vancouver, Wash.

Those darn trains are always chasing after people. They're so unpredictable, you don't know which way they're going to steer as they weave around.

The above two sentences are meant to be sarcastic. If people would just stay off the tracks there wouldn't be tragedies like that. The "No Trespassing" signs at each end of the bridge are there for a reason.

As for the guy in the Ford, he was at a narrow crossing, but he said he "slipped off and the rear differential got high centered. " Seems like 4wd and rocking back and forth would have gotten him free, but maybe there wasn't enough time. At least they didn't get hurt.

I agree with the other comments about the truck not being as badly damaged as I was expecting to see.

Andy

I don't even wanna get started on people "staying off the tracks" ... ... ... ... ... ... you would think people would learn eventually since the railroads have been around 150 or so years.

Now I see the problem, his tires are WAY too small!

Andy

Nice look

The truck looks like a 4wd, he should have been able to engage the front and get free.

Something tells me that we are not getting the whole story from him.

Guess he wanted a cummins and the insurance paid better than the dealer.

What a waste of friction material on the brake shoes of the train...

Hey Holeshot

Hilarious!!!!!!! LOL that was honestly the funniest thing I have heard today

I'm sure the train driver (what do they call them?) slowed down because he thought someone may have been in the truck. After it was all over he probably said, "well, if I had known no one was in it... "

Andy, I was reading in the RR news forums the other day and one engineer made the comment that some people have actually told him they were struck by the train because it "swerved to hit me. " Even the most fundamental mechanical concepts completely escape some people!!

Vaughn, there was an item on our local news a few weeks ago about people demanding that the BNSF put up a fence along a stretch of track north of Seattle because "people keep getting killed by the trains. " The news article showed a picture of a very attractive late-teen girl who's family and friends' lives have been shattered by her death because she was run over by a train. The article went on about what a sweet girl she was and her ambitions, etc. , but it never once questioned why she was on the tracks. BNSF said the fence will be expensive and will create difficulties with track maintenance and access to the tracks. Of course, the article tried to paint the railroad as being insensitive bad guys. I was thinking the BNSF should have said, "How about, instead of us putting up a fence, you people just stay off the frickin' tracks!?!" The article said that "the trains are so quiet, that people don't hear the trains coming. " These are probably the same people who lobbied for legislation to ban train horns in the community!

Geez, I mean, trains only go in two directions: back and forth. See those two rails? That's where the train goes! Is that too difficult of a concept to understand?

Andy

I have trouble hearing those dang things. The rumble of the engines, the horn, the vibrating ground. I can see why its so easy to miss. I can't even begin to count the number of times one of them little devils have snuck up on me.

The train "drivers" are called engineers Klenger.

I've got a name for this guy, starts with a "D" and ends with an "S".

I thought that's what they were called, but didn't want to show off my knowledge if I was wrong. Airplanes I understand, trains and boats not.

I could have swore I saw a steering wheel the other day in that train. I also have heard that when trains blow a tire on the steering axle that it will cause them to come off the track:-laf. I also once saw a Greyhound bus that had jack-knifed on the interstate. I have got to stop doing drugs:rolleyes: .

the GE won good eh... the pilot on the locomotive [pilot=front plow] probably got bent up and maybe the buffer plate if the impact was hard enough, but ford looked like it was a good crumple zone :-laf. so torch, hammer & pipewrench will fix up the GE good, and same tools could be used to "fix" up that fraud also :-laf.
