Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 6.0 with exhaust

saw a new 6. 0 at the mobil yesterday morn-got on to it a little when he left and ratt tatt taatt--almost sounded a little sick IMO-believe he had a aftermarket exhaust i f thats what my truck is gonna sound like with a 4inch -i will stay stock

The V-8 diesels just don`t sound good with an open exhaust for some reason they sound like a bad running gas motor. I don`t mean to hurt anybody`s feelings on this but they just don`t sound right. (had one) The only time an line-6 will sound funny with an open exhaust (not bad) is at low R. P. M. pulling something. It might sound like an old John Deer coming out of the field. But that`s good right.

I have a couple of pherds around my neighborhood with aftermarket exhaust and a couple with bigger turbos. They all sound sick. They all think they got fast trucks-until they just heard about mine. Chickens.

IMO, 6. 0s straight piped sound pretty darn mean, when that variable turbo lights its sure to get your attention.

I heard a dual stack Duramax V-8 on a crewcab 4x4. I must say it sounded good. Like a big block 454 with a Flowmaster and turbo whine. It did sound much better than the 7. 3 Ford PSD that goes by the house every morning. The turbo whine from it sounds as if someone is sticking a potato in the tailpipe 5 times a second. Weird for a performance sound. But all unique in their own way.



Inline 6's into a single manifold have a sound all their own. Gas or diesel.

You know I have herd a few 6. 0L that did sound good, but known lately. And all that I do hear, sounds like they have a terrible problem. Like they are missing, cylinders cutting out or something like that. Just a very odd, gets your attention, but in a bad way, kind of like "oh my god, what's wrong with that" type attention. I believe these latest re-flashes must have really changed things, even empty they seem to struggle to get moving. Just doesn't sound health, or good.
