I drive the truck less now and have yet to see any biofuels at the pump

Im looking for a 50 mpg diesel sport utility crossover i can drive now they have them in europe now they keep saying they are coming ?

Bush likes alcohol/gas power and seems to shun biodiesel.

too much govt red tape to get them here.

The reason we are seeing higher food prices is because we are dim enough to burn our food instead of eating it. Sugar beets make better ethanol, and arent in near as high of demand as corn, soybeans, etc.



The bubble will burst, as all bubbles eventually do. How high it will go and how hard it will fall is anyone's guess. I'm guessing we'll see $5. 50-6. 00 in the midwest before it breaks. When it gets to that level (and maybe before), the economy is going to come to a screeching halt, and for one reason- truckers wont be able to stay afloat. When you get paid $2 per mi, and fuel alone cost $1-1. 20, you cant make any money. Costs have already been passed on to the customer.



And if politicians were so darned concerned about our wellbeing, why dont they get their greedy hands out of the cookie jar, and give us some tax relief? 70CENT tax in CA? That is ridiculous. I pay 42 cents per gallon state/federal tax here.



As for the Fed, it's further proof that government intervention only serves to mess things up. If you are going regulate something, regulate it, sans loopholes. Why the subrpime mortgage ledners cant be allowed to go under is beyond me. If it were you or I going under, they'd just say farewell. As far as that goes, the subprime market is just media hype and victim making- it's all in the fine print when you sign the paper work for your loan. If you dont read it, you deserve to be booted from your house when the adjustable rate adjusts, or your interest only loan starts collecting principal or whatever. Many of the delinquent mortgages are second homes that people hoped to flip, but got caught at the wrong time. Some you win, some you lose.

We need to STOP ALL ethanol production(at least corn). Use switch grass or sugar beets. Better conversion ratio. Build more nuclear plants. Drill in anwar & offshore. Did any see where China is going to take our oil? They are going to drill in Cuba & take our oil. The enviromentalist should wake up. If we drill we will do it right. Do you Think China cares if there is a large spill? Will they clean it up? At least we would do it right.

(Gas rationing in the 70's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even have been good for us!)







Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices.



Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit? Now unless you have a lot of investment money in foreign oil futures, this should sound inviting.









An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people (who I get the impression) want me, my family and my friends dead.

If you do the math at $130 per barrel, that's over $715 million PER DAY (nearly $261 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!! It won't stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.

we can drill all we want and once it becomes available it will be exported to foreign soil as they are paying more money because refining capacitys are near max levels in the usa.



We need more refining capacity in North America.

And it would still take 5 years for it to come into the supply lines from the time the first bit hit the sea floor till the pipelines are installed going towards the onshore storage infastructure faciltys.



plus most new rigs are being built for the gulf of mexico now for deep water exploration.

If the oil is only to be sold here for cheap< what incentive do the oil companies have to drill it?? so they can sell it to us at a loss?? Not gonna happen. The fact is (with the exception of a few thousand jobs) the only ones who will really profit from drilling here are the oil big wigs, their cronies and a few guys on wall street. In my area diesel hit 5. 14 to $5. 25, gas was about $4. diesel is now $4. 84 and gas at $4. 37 - 4. 47. diesel has been pretty consistant 65 to $. 75 per gallon more than gas. is it doing the same in your area? whats going on?? robert

Diesel went up again today 4. 81 on CNN dont know maybe a million news trucks were trying to get to the refinerys to fill up why can diesel be 2. 60 in the border towns of mexico and 4. 54 here in hondo texas just seems that we are going to the poor house and the speculators are getting rich we have the same demand and refining capacity day in and day out but this sure isnt walmart and prices are not rolling back

What this country needs to do is send a Wake Up Call to Washington, our state capitals and town halls around the country! We Have Had It With You!!! What every one needs to do is; Get Online (After TDR Of Course :-laf ,) and find out who your incumbent Politicians are, and then on Election day in November, Vote Them OUT!!!!



Then, make sure that the new guys understand what happen to their precursors. I don't think it matters who or what their political views are, just so they aren't part of the "Old" order, and they understand that, and they will be voted out if they don't fix this mess. Rumor has it, that Congressman and Senators on both sides of the isle have their hands in the oil and environmentalists pockets



We need to make a lot of changes. For starters, No New Taxes!!



Those weak willed, lilly livered, State Legislators, and State Senators here in CT had set up a system were the fuel taxes are figured out by a formula at the CT State Department of Revenue, and they claim they can't kill the tax increases on fuel! Got news for you guys, You need to get a "Real Job", hopefully a nice honest "Blue Collar" one so you fools can learn what's like to work for a living.



The new President needs to tell the EPA that "Diesels are good, they are 30% more efficient, and to roll the emission controls back to the European levels. " All the Greenies love the Europeans, and if it's "good enough for them, it's good enough for us. "



We need to stop paying farmers to grow or not grow certain crops, and subsidize the growing of fuel crops. It's foolish to pay to put US Farmland out of use, and not pay them to grow stuff like Fuel Corn, Soy and/or Rapeseed, yo know stuff to make Biodiesel out of. (Any farmers, Please set me straight on any Farm Bill stuff, as it's past my understanding, and I just don't have time to study this stuff. )



We should be pushing for Fuel Conversion of Coal and Natural Gas into Diesel and Gasoline. We have this stuff, lets use it! The Germans in the 2nd World War did this, and Shell is advertising their GTL process. We don't have many Diesel cars here, so I am not sure who Shell is advertising to, But if I can get some GTL Diesel at a cheap price, I'd use it. If Al Gore wants a carbon credit, he can have some coal dropped off at his house, or send the coal to me, I will burn it!



We can and should encourage the use of Natural Gas for heating and stationary powerplants. We can lay pipe to almost anything that doesn't move.



We should put in Wind and Solar Technologies. The Sunshine is free and the wind is cheap. Let's use Teddy and his nephew Arnold, as they are big wind bags.



We need to change the rules and laws regarding the Futures and Speculation markets. If you can't pay for it in cash and/or real securities, and have a place to safely store the oil you bought, then you need to pay the penalties!! Alsio, Lets put an end to Exporting Alaska crude to Japan, China and the Far East. That's our oil, Lets keep it! We have Oil and Gas off US shores, Let drill for it, see my rant about the Europeans, as they are drilling in the North Sea, with out any major natural disasters!
