What a long strange trip it's been!

Why is diesel so loud?

Quoted when asked if he dynoed yet:



No he has not, but because of my setup compared to his, I know he has to be at around the 700hp mark.



His "setup" yields 518/RWHP 922FT/LBS #2 Only, 652/RWHP 1102FT/LBS On Drugs.



Does that sound right :confused: .

The fasted Dodge daily driver, I know about, is a guy in Corpus named Jeff Prince. I believe he is running a 10. 2 1/4 miles at 123 mph if I'm not mistaken. A good ol 12 valver.
 
man the turbo sounds impressive on the 6. 0, but i don't like the sound of the exhaust when you start to hear it over the charger...
 
I think they sound like crap. They sound like a V8 when they get up in the revs... . probably because they are V8's. There's nothing like the sound of a straight pipe CTD!!!
 
Are the horsepower claims real? I mean, if they can make that many horses why do the pullers not do as well? 700hp should be in the low 11's right?
 
But how many miles will it go between trips to the dealer shop - - -and will foord buy it back after the 4th or 5th visit?

I am pretty sure that MoreMPH on here has a Ford that is around 650 horse. Which impresses the hedoublehockeysticks out of me. So I would guess the h. p. claims are kinda close. Maybe Travis will chime in here.

Be happy for the guy no matter what motor or manufacter. I for one am glad everybody doesn't buy DC as I don't want to be driving nearly the same vechile as everyone else.



I would say he is a little of 600.



The 6. 0's make hp let face it. One chip will get you 400+ hp but the tq is really lacking with out the help of drugs. At PFI quite a few made over 400 but tq was 700 and lower!!



Congrads to the 6. 0 running in the 12's!!!
 
The unbelievable thing is he has $4000 alone into the motor to get to where he is. That includes re studing the heads :--)



Wont be many more passes he'll be looking transmission. That'll be another 4 Grand



So it took 8 grand to get a twelve three 6. pos spraying?I don't think there is much to worry about :p
 
I thought 600 seemed a little more realistic too. I would expect there to be numbers like that out of a 7. 3 over a 6. 0 spray or not mainly due to the larger displacement.



Does MoreMPH have a 6. 0? Are the 6. 0's overshadowing the larger 7. 3's at the strip and at the pulls?

A big ford guys who knows nothing about the diesel side of CTD or PSD was preaching to me that



there is no Subsitute for Cubic Inches ... PERIOD



So how many Cubic Inches is a CTD compaired to a 6. 0 and 7. 3



As We battle Up comes the Lets drop chains and find out and he says you have a better low end you will get me before I can even start and by the time I do get wound up You will be pulling me back so my tires will just bust loose... . YADA YYYADAAA YADA Ok so lets race ... . NO WAY he says you will have me on the jump big time ... . then I say so whats so much better about those Cubic Inches Now ???



PSD can make a i6 5. 9 it it would still be crap ... ... there getting closer and closer to just coping our motors

Between the two it just comes down to what you want. If "I" wanted a v-8 "I" would have bought a gasser. I wanted a diesel...



But in the Ford world is the 6. 0 even able to compete with the 7. 3? Just trying to learn somthing for myself.



I think the reason why people give Ford owners so much **** is because of the kind of stuff DM is talking about above. Seems like Ford owners what to start the talk, but once you hold the chain up they can't walk the walk. Kind of funny when you see the video at IRP of the Ford and Dodge hooked and then people say the one guy cheated by putting tractor weights in the bed. So what? Next time don't bring a knife to a gunfight.

trubo,stock trannyand stock fuel system that is pretty damn good.

Yeah with N20, That to me isnt making real HP its not sustainable, its no diffrent than a D-Max Yet they can make upwards of 800 HP with a stock turbo. The aftermarket is catching up to them and they will have some good stuff offered to the public very soon in the airflow department. Besides the D-max has a way better fuel system than the 7. 3 or the 6. 0 so they will never be able to make the HP that us or the D-max guys can make.



One more thing, I dont know how much an X weighs but I seen video of it running mid 13's, so it had better be really heavy or he aint makin the power.
