Had some work done around the house and the construction guy had a 6. 0L Ford. After they left I got the mail and noticed oil on my driveway. I have 19K on my truck and it is spotless!! Gotta love the Cummins!!!!
Yep,had one the other day in the lane next to me. It was inching over sideways and the left rear tire was raising. Took a good look at my truck and thought twice about it. Decided to hold its fluid. Bet it just pumped it into the engine block! All kidding aside there are folks posting on there if all they read is true and trying to decide to buy one! :--) Some even posting back that they aren't as bad as whats being posted. A friend of mine is a service manager of a small north Ga. Ford store. He said its a nightmare and was told its costing Ford a MILLION BUCKS a day in warranty repairs and buy backs.
The small Ford dealer here in town hasn't had a new diesel truck on the lot since the 6. 0L came out. They used to have about 3 on the lot at a time. When they were getting them in, the trucks weren't there very long at all. Maybe a week or 2, tops. Guess they didn't want to deal with the problems.
The used diesel trucks weren't there long either. When I was looking for a truck, prior to getting my '86, they had a early '90s F-350 SRW crewcab (4x4, 5spd) diesel. It was there 3 days. Was gone before I had a chance to talk to them about it.
Oh well. The Ram is a MUCH nicer truck. Still wish I had a manual transmission though.
A small Ford dealer near me is sitting on 20 or more new ones. salesman said they were selling well. But he does have 20 or so!I was looking at Crown Vics. Now it does have excellant service marks and very little problems. thats the ticket. Put COPS in F250 diesels and I bet they get a cure in a hurry.
