Like to recieve some feed back on 2008 6.4 bought used pros and cons of this motor 6.4 powerstroke diesel sorry I wasn't more clear

Why did you ask a question about a powerjoke on our RAM/Cummins forum! People do not transplant 6.4's into RAM trucks, however a lot of 12V Cummins get transplanted into Fords! SNOKING

New to the site I should of realized my old powerstroke counot hang with the cummims didn't mean to reffule any feathers

No cool aid drinkers here. The 6.0, 6.4 and maybe the 6.7(time will tell) are POS! No CP4.2 injection pump fans here either. Last good powerstroke was the 7.3! But welcome! SNOKING
 
Sorry. You came down the wrong block. I hear the 6.4 is good stripped and as a race engine. I'm dealing with one that has 6000 lo speed hours on it. And another one expired. The ford reman dressed engine is $16,000.
 
Came down the wrong block for sure, so the cummims is the way to go drove big trucks all my life. First diesel pickup I've owned, what I am gettig the 6.4 powerstorke is not the motor to have.probley why the only made it for 2 years. So I guess I'm going to do my research on the Dodge cummins and get a real truck

Like most Ford stuff they drive great, comfy, good body quality. Overengineered, overcomplicated, run excellently to an extent, and then BAM!
One excellent example, the high pressure fuel lines on the Cummins 5.9/6.7 run 90% outside the engine. On the 6.4, they run 95% inside the engine. I have one that has an internal fuel leak, and is "making" engine oil. I drained 40 quarts out on initial diagnosis, but not until it ran away a couple times for the owner and once for me. The repair bill in this one will be heavy.
 
The more I learn about my 6.4 I get worried now that I'm finding out some of the expence things that can go wrong.like any contamated fuel, ther goes the high presser fuel pump.all the injectors.5000 just that quick.this site is unbeleavable for information that's avable .what I'm interested in is a Dodge 3500 dulley that way once I quiet truckin I can make money pulling R Vs so I appreciate the feed back.

General consensus is that pulling RV's is a hard way to try to make money. Mostly one way hauls with no back hauls. Difficult to legally sleep in the truck etc. SNOKING

Keep this thought. Make sure it is new enough to have an exhaust brake. Since you are a big rig driver you know all the pro's and con's of commercial trucking so do your homework.

Even then, the 7.3 was not so great. I had a 95, 97, an 02. Galley plug behind heads leaked, glow plugs and gp relays, hp pump leaking, cps sensors. The final straw was that copper washer at the oil pan would drip oil...
