neither does the Dodge... all of those trucks have PLENTY of torque... even if you're pulling 'em backwards, you can get the tires spinning w/ ease. looks like propoganda to me. not saying which would win or anything, just looks staged to me.

Notice how much the Duramax is squatting. Those things are usually pretty high in the rear. Probably has one metric butt ton of weight back there.

Regular cab Duramax, against a quad cab Dodge, more then likely one of the lower HP/TQ Cummins with an automatic from that time period vs. what looks to be a rather newer with more power Duramax, and boy look at how the rear of the Duramax is squatting, I would love to see them hook up a 2005 Duramax to a 2005 Dodge and let them both have 1000 pounds of weight in the bed, I bet the Dodge would have a Field day with the Duramax.



And make sure the Duramax is the same configuration as the Dodge, i. e. no standard cab vs. quad cab.

I think that is BS it looked like he the D Max was in 4wd and the Dodge and Ford were in 2wd, he was just goin forword with absolutly no wheel spin the the other guys were spinning wheelsn the ford was smokin. The other trucks had to be heavier then the Chevy to because they were extended/crew cab, the chevy also could have been weighted.

me= high range, 35's, a butt load of tq, and lots of beer.

his= low range,44's, no power to spin the tires,



yeah it was a sad day for me, but you gotta see the marks, looked like a nhra burnout when i stopped :-laf



next time its 4wd low and 38's!! bet the 1/2 ton axles dont like that

Another reason is that with 44s he probably sat much higher than you. So you were pulling down on him, giving him more traction, and he was pulling up on you, giving you less.

Took the words out of my mouth, Gary. All this tests is traction, and proves NOTHING except how physics affects friction.



Of course, of it's a second Gen Dodge with an auto, it's possible the converter is just slipping and not putting down the grunt.



I never understood why people would "hook 'em up". It just shows how ignorant some people are, I guess.

Just for laughs I hooked on the front of "bertha" and tried... it started to move but the ol dodge just coudlnt do it and I just dug 4 holes. I guess 38,6xx lbs doesnt move to easily haha :-laf
