I got a letter in the mail yesterday from Craft Hughes Law firm in Houston

TX. It was sent because I am the owner of a 2007 Dodge Ram diesel, and

"Numerous owners of the 2007 model Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks

have reported exhaust defects resulting in check engine light problems,

loss of power, poor "gas" mileage, the vehicle running poorly, and EGR and

turbo defects. " Anybody else get one too? I have a 5. 9L and have had

no such problems, so I'm guessing they are after the 6. 7's. I didn't think

the DPT problems were wide spread enough to warrant a law suit. Might

just be some sharks tasting blood.

Dodge 6. 7 Diesel Engine Class Action Attorney | Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine Problems

Dodge 6. 7 Diesel Engine Class Action

Are You An Owner of a 2007 - 2009 Dodge 6. 7 Diesel Engine Vehicle?

There are many 2007, 2008 and 2009 Dodge 2500 and 3500 Cummins 6. 7 diesel owners fed up with the chronic issues they have experienced with the new technology of their Dodge trucks. Our law firm is receiving requests for assistance and legal guidance regarding the constant check engine light, stalling and numerous other complaints by Dodge owners.

Chrysler is having repair problems with its 2007, 2008 and 2009 Dodge RAM trucks equipped with the 6. 7 Liter Cummins turbo diesel engine. Typically, the check engine light comes on causing the owner to take it in to their dealer for warranty repairs. The dealers often find problems with the engine computer controls, the emissions system, the turbo, and the transmissions.

Dodge has issued technical service bulletins on these models dealing with engine control software issues and excessive turbocharger soot accumulation resulting in emissions problems.

Dodge Fire Recall Alert: 2007-2008 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 with Cummins Diesels

Following 14 reports of engine-bay fires, Chrysler is recalling 108,429 2007-2008 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with the 6. 7L Cummins diesel engine. The fires were caused by sagging noise insulation material coming into contact with the diesel's exhaust-gas recirculation cooler.

The EGR systems are used to reduce nitrogen-oxide emissions by recirculating a portion of the engine's exhaust back into the engine at a lower temperature. Nitrogen oxide emissions are a major pollutant, contributing to smog, asthma, and respiratory and heart diseases. To remedy the fire hazard, dealers will add a bracket in the engine compartment to support the silencing material that is in danger of contacting the EGR cooler.

If you believe your Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500 pickup truck caused a fire, please contact our law firm immediately by completing the Dodge 6. 7 Diesel Potential Client Questionnaire and returning it to our office immediately. Affected owners may also contact Chrysler regarding the recall at 800-853-1403. The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration ("NHTSA") campaign number for this issue is 08V641000.

Damn scumbag lawyers! #@$%! If enough people go thru with this it will drive the price of new trucks thru the roof, or it will make Dodge go with a Fiat engine. Or both. I'm sure there are some chronic problem trucks out there, and a bunch of uneducated dealers that **** off owners. But for the most part, the trucks have been taken care of, and function well. Now this comes along and will screw it up for any of us that are future buyers.

Sorry, about the rant, I get worked up over stupid crap like this, and all the other stupid lawsuits that should get thrown out of court. Like the woman who sued McD's because she put hot coffee in her lap. Idiots!

Pete, a lot depends on whether you are the OWNER of one of the affected trucks or not - if the Fords had an issue like this, MANY of the guys on THIS board would be all over it with catcalls and ridicule... ;)

Gotta remember - "What GOES around, COMES around!" ;)

There's a lot more people out there that don't belong to this site than belong. This was coming no matter what some people think how good their 6. 7L is. The 6. 7L Cummins is the best foundation for a Diesel motor and it's not Cummins fault it's the EPA's and the CRAP that Cummins had to put on the motors to meet their emissions standards. I was at May Maddness 2008 and most the people that had the 6. 7L's were not happy with them. I know people that have taken all the crap off and they get very good mileage and have NO PROBLEMS at all. But with emissions testing and inspections coming they will have to put it all back on. I really don't think it's BLOOD SUCKING LAWYERS I think there's a lot of unhappy people out there with 6. 7L's.

You have to admit that Dodge & Cummins have had some problems with the 6. 7. A friend of mine's neighbor had a 6. 7 & had so much trouble with it that he bought a used Ford with a 460 gas engine. I won't comment on that move.

Guess that a new 2010 megacab dually decked out is pushing $55,000 retail,

If forthcoming litigation on all this begins, trucks will be worth next to nothing and hard to sell or trade, the engine is great, trans is great too. The emissions kills all the good stuff, along with forhtcoming state sponsored smog emissions checks. Owners will be left with big payments and a depreciation rate on the investment that truely s****.

Ford and chevy arnt far behind on some of these things either as they share the same basic exhaust & engineering designs, if this litigation happens more will follow the bandwagon.

Just wanted a nice dependable truck to drive and haul

All is well with "AS" Flash for now

Austin Diesel

Well I'll blow everyones mind. I LIKE my 6. 7ltr.

Mine has been great! best truck I have ever owned and I have owned quite a few.

I do not need "ambulance chasers" for anything except bait!

Goes for a few others on this site as well.

Maybe we could cap the amount the attorneys can collect for their fees and use the difference to pay for health care? Then they could not afford all of the TV ads or the unsolicited crap in the mail and health care would be "free" for everyone!

Justice only comes to those who demand it!!! What I am wondering is if I get damages how will the awards be figured?? Will they get me another truck (07 with gas engine) less the miles I have driven my current truck?? Or will they figure out the downtime out of service due to no dealership parts? How will they assess damages due to the loss of resale value???? Will I get the money I had to spend towing and hauling the dead truck back and forth each time????? Will I get the money for the water pump I had to buy myself and ship in due to out of stock at the dealership???? Will i get the money back I had to pay for the egr cleaning and hauling it up there dead again??? Will be interesting to see how this pans out for sure. I can tell one thing so far is that I figure the attorney has filed for discovery and will contact every 6. 7 owner and get enuff to qualify for a class action, I wish I knew how many have to sign up to get it in the type of suit???? I cant wait to here the questioning, "Is it true yes or no, that Dodge sold 07 trucks with an out of date flash and never notified the owners to bring them in to get reflashed?? Is it true yes or no, dealership salespeople told the new buyers that milage was 15 to 16 miles per gallon??? Is it true, yes or no, Dodge closed dealerships and ran out of parts and mechanics to keep the trucks in warranty running? Is it true yes or no, that when some complained about the trucks cel and regenation came on they were told you cant idle the truck more than 15 minutes at a time??? Is it true, yes or no, that when water enters the system the light does not show water in fuel?? Is it true, yes or no, Dodge now sells a new fuel system add on to fix the problem but will not install in it the trucks since sold?? Is it true, yes or no, that smoke enters the cab when the converter plugs up and the truck stalls?? Is it true that when the truck is driven in the mud the tailpipe plugs up and overheats and sends emmsions into the cab??? on and on

If they had truely fixed the software problem on the 6. 7 before they unleased it on the 1th generation buyers we would not keep seeing additional updates over and over.

I have contacted a lawyer, Have not decided what I am going to do yet. One thing he did tell me is we have a window for "lemon law" 18 months from date of purchase as I was told. For the "lemon law" to work in your favor you must put the car co on notice with an offical letter to them stateing the issues you have had up to that point. He said a new truck or cash equilevent, this was in VA.

I think lemon laws vary by state as far as procedures and quaifications,

to begin investigating procedings just type the topic in to google and read on and there are attorneys that specialize in this scenario also.

i have been lucky so far and not had any bad luck and all is well but it seems it can change at a moments notice.

But have made an inquiry to investigate this scenario. To cover my A**

if need be ,

Exactly, makes you wonder how many will read this topic and do the same. What I have always loved is the way people always kill the messanger of bad news, its just a failing of human nature I guess, but its always funny to see someone who ox has not been gored yet be the 1th to sign up just in case what happened to my truck and some others happens to them too!!! And then you have the wise ones who hedge like you just in case. I hope nobody has to go thru what I have with my truck for sure no matter who you are.

I dont think it is right to leave us out here with trucks that may or may not be actually fixed and not have more of the same problems still in the engine softeware, aka the continuing updating of flashes. I have actaully quit driving my truck and am drivng my older dodgers with the 5. 9 cummins due to getting close to the 100,000 mile mark. I freak out when I think of having to replace all of this egr system on my dime much less how much I will take it in the pants again if I get water in my diesel like some have and have to replace the injection pump and injectors, OMG how much is that plus labor now??

Most of the injection issue are DIRECTLY RELATED TO POOR FUEL HANDLING at the retail end... Did Chrysler contaminate the product? Now take into consideration the fact that the fuels sold today inhibit water (None of the of the aftermarket filters that are popular on this site will adequately remove the emulsified water) I challenge them none took up the offer. This week I sold two sets of injector related to moisture. filtering begins at the Pump (this is the proper place to filter fuel NOT on the vehicle) Fass or Airdog will not pump thru aquasorb filters that will get 99 % of all moisture free and inhibited, AWS will get the free water but NOT the the emulsified water. If you want a Class action suit why not add the retailers to your list for such poor filtering at the pump for profits.

give Cummins credit they are trying to put an engine out that meets or exceeds todays environmental regulations and someone has to do this. Cat just gave up and said no more highway motors . Cummins will get this right, maybe they have now, and there's just a few problem engines . what we must do is contact our reps in Washington and say Cap these Lawyers they drive the price of everything up with punitive damages not actual loss.

This should clear up any questions regarding "water in fuel"

Sometimes it can be a DC issue and not the vendor. I have driven through deep water in both my 92 and 01 and never had any issue with getting it in the fuel and was afraid to drive my 09 in the rain after reading this. I have since checked my truck and it had hoses and check valves on the "problem" elbows and checked my roommate's truck (also a 2009) and his were exposed to the elements and whatever else wanted to make its way in to contaminate the fuel system! Just my $0. 02

I agree! Most of the BS lawsuits are people just trying to make a buck, but there are some that have lost a lot when their "NEW" truck has let them down! Not just a Dodge problem either... It's all of them!!
I know that Cummins and Dodge are the best and will eventually get all the bugs worked out... The real problem is the whole "Global Warming" scandal, which is just a way for the government and the UN to rape the people and pass BS laws that hurt everyone except the few at the top (Al Gore) that are making quite a profit from our labor. It's already cost the American people enough!!
All the problems with low sulfur fuels killing older systems and the increased cost of refining, the reduction of fuel economy by retarding timing to reduce NOX emissions, and now the cost and lost time with constant CEL's, turbo and intake cleanings, re-flashes, and "limp mode" caused by EGR and DPF failures.

I think suing the EPA would be more appropriate. Actually, no suit of any kind is appropriate, but you get my point.
